So I know this is really random, but I've been watching you on DA for a while- I'm a big fan of your cosplays. I just noticed on your most recent work that you attend SCAD. I also go to SCAD, I'm a freshman and this is my first quarter. Just out of curiosity, what campus are you at? I'm in Savannah myself.

Yep I'm SCAD Savannah. I transferred in as a sophomore, where luckily most of my Gen Eds. transferred so I'll be doing art for the next 3 years.

I guess you're doing foundations at this point. What focus might you try pursuing?

That is very cool. I actually passed the Jack Sparrow Portrait in Wallin a few days ago, it looks much better in person. I like the assignment too, was it a self portrait w/ a twist?
And that is very lucky for you, SCAD has weird foundations to be sure. I'm planning on pursuing Advertising Design or Film. I can't choose between the two. What is your major?

Yeah, It is project #4 from McKinnon's class. Self portrait portraying yourself as a pop-culture character or famous image... I just did both. (As well, if you saw the wall the person at the bottom left did themselves as Mona Lisa- Terminator, haha... love it)
Major: Costume Design (Which is a focus in the Production Design Dept.)

Ha ha yeah I like that one. I like the Aphrodite one. Is McKinnon a good teacher? I'm trying to figure out Drawing II teachers. They're all actually really cool pictures. I love self portraits. What made you pick Jack? He's one of my favorites lol.

Yeah, McKinnon has been great. He's helpful for a broad spectrum of talent.
Well, drawing the jack wig and costume into the picture was natural because I actually have those costume pieces and have costumed Jack before (See some of my other Deviations). Durur was actually the primary inspiration for that piece. If I hadn't had my Jack Sparrow gear I still would have modeled myself in the pose of Durer's self-portrait.

That's good to know. I just really like the idea behind that assignment. Very creative. And yeah, I've seen your Jack costume before, it's a very good one. That's very cool. And I forgot to mention this is my last message sorry, costume design actually makes perfect sense considering the cosplays you do. I looked at production design, because I think its just a really interesting major, but ultimately decided that advertising was probably better for me.

At the risk of parroting what everyone else has said already, you are quite spectacular at whatever you put your hand to. Your costumes and cosplays look like you stepped right off the movie poster or video game box, and that 'quick study' of the tiger you drew left me crying from jealousy. I can't believe you did that in only 45 minutes!
