Trying to find motivation to draw and improve while maintaining a job and trying not to be a hermit. I want to get better with color.
Speaking of color, I see you have been around being awesome but posting everything in "scraps"! Shame. Your color studies are great and have me envious. Did you learn color or draw from references or what? I need to practice.

I know that feel, I was slogging around pretty badly earlier this year.
And yeah! I learned by basically copying master paintings.
Specifically, the Hudson River School paintings cause I love
the way the paintings look all fantasy and dreamlike, which
is pretty much what I want my colors to feel like.

If its colors you wanna power level I'd do a whole bunch
of thumbnail-sized studies like color scripts for animation!
That way you aren't bogged down by having to do too much
detail and only focus on composition, atmosphere, and color

well if its like single sketches or unfinished pictures and whatnot i'd put 'em into the scraps section-
The gallery is more like stuff you'd want people to see when they go through your gallery- Probably. There's no rules or whatever. Its up to you.

Just recently I went on a field trip to a bunch of museums in Houston, I think my favorite one was the contemporary art museum, it had a bunch of strange stuff~ it was great.

Meeh- I still draw a lot and everything, but it's mostly for school, like still-lifes, portraits, and design things. I haven't really drawn a lot that involves my characters and stories, which kinda gets me down sometimes- I really wish I had the drive to do more of that. I think its a whole lot more fun.
