Thank you for the favorites, it really means ever so much to me that you enjoy my artwork! I invite you to add me to your watch so that you can see all the future beaded and stitched pieces I have planned! Just think of the sparkles...

Done! And I just loooove the cross stitch pattern with Tinkerbell and the others. I NEED to embroyder (is that the right word?) that some day. Just amazing! Right now I'm working on a huuuge cross stitch which is the movie poster for the first Hobbit movie. In January I've been working on it for two years. I'm... almost half way done. It's ridiculous really. Anyway, I'm thinking of taking a little brake to do something smaller and easier. Haha! And some princesess would be great. We'll see I guess. Followed you on Etsy too. I make books and sell there but I'm home for christmas so the store is in vacation mode right now.
And yes, sparkles! More sparkles to the people!
And happy holidays!

Embroider is a proper word for it. Cross-stitching is a subset specialty of embroidery, people like myself can get pretty uptight about it haha. Is your poster one of the HAEDs? If so I know how huge those things are and I totally wish you luck getting it done.
Normally I would say they're not smaller as the princesses are two feet tall on 18 count, but I can understand swapping out from a two year long project to work on something sparkly is a nice incentive.
Thank you so much for adding me to your watch and Etsy! It really brings a smile to my face which is more than I could've asked for. I hope that I can continue to impress with my future pieces!

Haha! Good thing I didn't offend you then.
HAEDs? I'm not sure what that is. I took the first movie poster and made it into a cross stitch pattern by myself. I wasn't happy with the details at first so I made it a bit bigger and a bit bigger and when I was happy... I realised that the picture would be about 145cm high (4,7 feet?). So... it's taking some time. But I love it. Just slighty obsessed.
So... yes, two feet is quite big. But it still seems small to my curent project. But my dwarfs have no sparkles.
You're very welcome. Always nice to find other people who like the same things as you. ^_^
I also felt inspired to make more patterns so I started making some from my own photos and reopened my second Etsy shop (I sell handmade books in the first one) to see if anyone would be interested in bying. Haven't got much there yet, but it's still a lot of fun. Here's the link if you wanna have a look. www.etsy.com/shop/DesignByChar…

Ah, there you go! Hahaha, goodness gracious, that's HUUuuuuuugggeee. Where did you even get a large enough fabric swatch for it?
HAED is a company I've learned to abbreviate. They're Heaven And Earth Designs and are easy to find with a quick google search. I think since your project is already so huge you won't be too blown away by the HAED patterns like I was but I think you might like what you find there.
I added your shop to my favorites. You have some very pretty pictures in there to start!

Haha! Yes, it's... quite huge. I switch between "OMG this is gonna be so cool when it's done!" and "what were you thinking even starting this you're crazy!" It's lots of fun though. ^_^ I don't know how it is in the US but here in Sweden a lot of fabric and craft stores have fabric like that on rolls like any other fabric so you can just buy as big a piece as you want. Though I suppose most people buy a bit less than I did.
I might have heard about HAED now that you tell me the full name. I just suck at acronyms.
Now that I look at their site I want to make even more cross stitching! So pretty!
And thank you so much! So nice of you to say. It's mostly an experiment right now I feel. Just to see if someone is interested.

Ahhh that is so cool @_@ I am sure somewhere there must be a shop that does that, but all of the craft stores I've been to only sell Aida/evenweave in pre-cut swatches.
I have just one pattern from HAED and it was a gift, a bookmark of a lady reading a book. It was just too darn pretty not to want. A lot of their patterns I don't think I would ever do just because they're so much more tapestry work than cross stitch but maybe some day!
You're super welcome can't hurt!

Heh. Yes, I suppose it is kinda cool. Very practical at least. You could come here and visit and buy some.
Ooh! Sounds pretty. And who doesn't love books. ^_^ What do you mean with tapestry work though? Not sure I understand that.
No, it' can't hurt.

pinkythepink In reply to BlueShadowM [2016-01-07 15:06:05 +0000 UTC]
Tapestry work, like, you have to be super solid in your stitching, and a lot of stitchers use a method where you never actually "finish" a thread chain, you just tie/stab it off to the side until the color comes back up. Here is a photo I found to show what I mean: 3.bp.blogspot.com/-sdYfMc8AYbg…

BlueShadowM In reply to pinkythepink [2016-01-07 15:43:09 +0000 UTC]
Wow! That looks really advanced. I think I can see the merits of doing it that way, but I'm not sure I could without mixing up the threads.

pinkythepink In reply to BlueShadowM [2016-01-07 22:51:33 +0000 UTC]
Yeah it's too much for me @_@ I do it on occasion if I have, like, a color really close to the edge of my hoop that I don't want to cut off just to bring back up, but it seems like its wayyyyy too easy to mix it all and ruin your own progress.

I feel like there are parts of my cross stitch that could be easier to do with that technique. Maybe. But I don't think I dare to try it. I would just mess it up

Hej! You're very welcome. I really loved your art, especialy the houses you paint. Amazing! I love using watercolour but I mostly stick to fluffy animals and I'm not at all as good as you yet. Maybe one day. Look forward to seeing more of your work.
And thank you for the fav.

Ooh! Now I want hot chocolate! I guess I'll have to settle for the bottle julmust I bought the other day.
And yes, I love trying new things too, but more when it comes to crafts. In art I pretty much stick to pencils and watercolour.

Julmust? I've never tried... I am adding to my "Things to do when I finally have the opportunity to visit Sweden" list
I am trying myself some traditional media but I feel that my hands are like feet when I grab a pencil hahaha

Pretty much what I feel when I try digital then. Can't draw straight lines to save my life.
And yes, julmust is great! We drink tons of it during christmas. Like 50% of all the soda people drink then is julmust.
