I never took any lessons, other than Art in highschool. 
Art 1, Art 2, and Advanced Art 3, & Art appreciation. x3
But I mainly learned from just good ol' practice.

Samee, mainly taught myself, but the schools haven't done too much. My art teacher doesn't do much art, and when we do art, I find it really easy.

I can't wait for next year though, Probably take the grade 9 integrated arts, but if I feel like I can do it, I'll see about taking grade 10 art in grade 9

The reason I ask is because middle school art SUCKS! Mine did anyway.....

we didn't get to draw what we wanted, it was just terrible in general. 

SO YES! Art should get better when your in highschool, Hopefully you get a better teacher.

I got lucky and got an amazing Art teacher (same one for all of those classes) 
It was in highschool. And it was literally the best. ^-^
We always did art.

For us middle school art was a joke that everyone took. In highschool art was a "choice" only people who really liked art took it, Especially Art appreciation, Art 2, and art 3 and 4. 
She taught me so much, I'm still friends with my teacher now that I graduated. ^-^
She taught us mirror etching, pottery, stained glass, different forms of painting and drawing, UGH! It was
just so much fun! c:

I'm at my town's high school. Several years ago they decided that all grades 7/8 would go to the high school, but be kept seperate from the rest of the high school, and be in a different hallway than the rest of the kids. (I think it was because in my town there are two main elementary schools, and one of them was too full, even though the other one had an entire empty hallway?!)

So it's half high school, half middle I guess
So far this year, the art project we did were:

our names on our art portfolios
make a terry fox coin
paper stamps (you cut out paper, put it on paper, and paint over it. makes a nice design)
paper kaeidoscopes ( fold/cut paper and draw symmetrically on it)
"motion art" where we got different colored paper, cut it out the exact same way, and put it together. looks real cool

We did other thinks, but I forget them
And they're all things I think we did like 3-4 years ago, so...

oohhh Kaleidoscopes sound cool, and motion art too!

How it worked for us was, We'd come in on Monday, and get a themed assignment and we'd have all week in class to work on in, and turn it in on Friday for a grade.  Like for example, One time the theme was "stained glass" We could do any type of design or theme we wanted for it, anime, Beatles, etc. 
in middle school we had no freedom so this was great to me. In middle school (not even joking) He would draw a picture on the board, and we had to copy it, if we didn't do it right we got points marked off. It was terrible.


We did some stuff like 
 Mirror Etching (one of my favorites)
Dreamcatchers (another favorite) 
Stained glass
We took an example of a playing card (king, queen, jack, etc) and instead of using those characters we made our own giant playing card. I did one of the Beatles for mine. 
Pottery
We did a project in support of 9-11
This one where its like etched out? Not sure how to explain it, but you take a stick and scratch the design like a lottery ticket. lol
This really cool stamping thing, You literally took this thick rubber and made your own stamper!
Shading project to help us improve with shading
String art (best way I can explain it) You would take a needle and stab a bunch of holes in a piece of construction paper (in the shape of whatever design your wanting) and then you take thread and lace it through and make it into a picture, Its hard to explain but I got hooked on it and while everyone was still working on their first one I did like 10 that week lol XD
Collages
We took an old book, and picked a theme, redrew the outside of the book, and the glued sections into the book and put drawings inside of it and turned into our own little thing, I did the theme "the Beatles" you should check it out, to this day its one of my favorite art pieces that I own. I LOVE IT! Lol
 Stained tiedye/rainbow art
 Homemade bracelets, (it was a lot of fun, I can make super complex bracelets now Its amazing)

We did tons over the 4 years I had her, It was great. 
Lots of these are in my old art (random) and also some in my Beatles, and in my characters
She also let me doodle when I didn't like the project.

I seriously love that Beatles book, Its one of my favorite things that I've done. 
and yeah, I can't remember alot of the projects we did either, those were just some of my favorites. 


Our office at school, and a wall section for art, Our art teacher picked her favorite ones out of all 7 classes she had of the day, and she'd put some up there. IT was like the holy grail. lol Like getting your art put up on display. I thought it was nice anyway, and I got mine up quite a few times. It was so cool. ^-^
Only really good art pieces got put up there.

do it in detail I can try to help. You can do any theme and all you need is an old book. (:
