Beastiegurl In reply to Satheda [2005-09-01 17:53:01 +0000 UTC]
Well, Yes and no.. It's cool cos altho you have to work hard to make friends and stuff, it gives you a wide range of cool ppl that you meet, and stuff that you could do. And the meetings of local home ed ppl can be really fun, too. But sometimes I have wondered if it would be better if I went to scholl, but I dunno..

Nope, no gcses. but I may do entry to employment soon which envolves loads of work experience and could lead to qualifications or an apprenticeship. Or I may try and get into a college to do Fashion, Performing arts, or Art. Or something else! Did u do well on your gcses? You must've done to get into 6th form I guess..

Congrats! mmm interesting mix of subjects... Sixth form sounds fun!

Satheda In reply to Beastiegurl [2005-09-05 19:08:23 +0000 UTC]
lol. I like art type stuff and DT goes well with that. And IT can as well. Media doesn't really fit with those subjects, lol.
It probably wont be fun...It will be quite hard I think...heavy work load apparently!

Beastiegurl In reply to Satheda [2005-09-14 12:11:20 +0000 UTC]
Oh, I'da thought media would go well with subjects like art and i.t, but then, what is media? lol!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Satheda In reply to Beastiegurl [2005-09-16 19:07:01 +0000 UTC]
Well, in media we look a all the different aspects of films (E.g. camera angles, the sounds/music, etc), TV programmes, radio, magazines, etc. all different types of media. we study them, learn their history, and make our own (like for GCSE media I had to make my own magazine).

Yeah, it was cool.
What are you studying then?

Beastiegurl In reply to Satheda [2005-09-18 20:38:02 +0000 UTC]
Well, right now I'm still home educated, so I don't separate my learning into subjects, it just kinda happens. Right now cos i'm 16, i've got to find out if I can stay on at home, by letting the education authorities know that I'm still in full time ed at home.. so I won't have to get a full time job, when I've never even had a part time one.. Or go to college, which i wanted to wit to do, cos i've got a lot of projects that i wanna embark on.. If not tho I'll probably just do e2e (y'kno, work experience, maths, english, can lead to an apprenticeship..)
I know it's a big question, but just off the top of your head, Do you feel happy with your education, and the way it is now, or would you like to change it in some way?

Satheda In reply to Beastiegurl [2005-09-20 19:59:16 +0000 UTC]
My education at the moment...very demanding, because weve only been back at school for 3 weeks and we are getting a lot of homework, but it will settle down soon. It's a lot harder now im nearly 17 cause of being in 6th form, but I am happy with my education. I would Like to change it so I could be slightly more free, have more of an ability to express myself, and to lighten the workload because i have a lot of work to do.
How about you?

Beastiegurl In reply to Satheda [2005-09-22 10:16:09 +0000 UTC]
I don't know, i like the way it's going but I'd like it to be a bit more steady, and secure.. but it's up to me, and it's getting there. Also, sometimes I think I'd like it to be more schooly, but I realised lately that I probably don't. You probably don't really realise wat its like at home and romanticise your idea of it. I'm enjoying the freedom of being able to mix college courses, workshops, local projects and events, and clubs..with my own ideas, and plans, and parties..

Cool. sounds good. But I do like school the way it is for me, because i like to have a nice routine and the school gives a structured working atmosphere, so its good for me.

Well, other schools all start at about 9 ish or just before, and finish at about 3.20pm. We start lessons at 8.35, dont finish till 4.05, and dont get home till later than that. I have to get up earlier than people wjho go to other schools in my area, its a longish day but its great when you get used to it.
