Tip #1 Draw from real life! It helps you improve all-around no matter which cartoon style you're going for. Tip#2 Draw frequently, draw a lot. Don't focus too much on a single piece, you will gradually improve over time the more works you finish.

There is such absolute grace & confident strength in your every stroke-- or your finalized contour lines, perhaps. (They look so free-flowing, like you just made them/left them "as is;" but more likely there was a bit of shaping & cleaning up that went into them.)
Your types of lines- running & crashing, switching up directions, not only shaping out the characters in your piece but also joining in with the motion/action of your work- are, exactly the types of lines that I have often tried to see in artists' work, study them out, & then try letting those observations impact my own drawings. ...I know I've pulled back- I guess gotten more self-conscious/conservative?- from how loosely I used to draw (like in 2007). But seeing your work gives me hope that maybe I'll get back to that loose strength someday, like I've been trying to capture. ^_^
I also really like the way your Steven Universe fan art pieces make use of lighter color pallets, or are dark yet have well-placed areas of brighter colors. Those types of colors against your contour lines made your artwork really stand out to me when I saw it. ...Thanks for sharing what you've done!

Thank you! I'm glad my art has left such a big impression. Β Some of the process is very loose and sporadic. I've worked on giving my drawings good form but also having them be distorted and dynamic to give off more energy. Sometimes I'm not sure how I ended up with this style, but a lot of my inspiration is animation and I think that's where I get the energy from. While The coloring process is digital, I still get tremendous satisfaction out of traditional inking and it just ends up looking more powerful.

Ahaha thank you. Actually usually I can pick apart stylistic influences but I'm intrigued of where you might have gotten that look. I can definitely see the eastern influence, possibly anime like xxxholic? It's not the sole defining feature though, the tall lanky frames remind me of a lot of fashion design illustrations mixed with punk elements. I hope I don't sound pretentious, I could be completely wrong haha but it is a unique look you have going. Feel free to share it in your own words. Notes work too, I don't want to clutter your wall.

Ok, so... I finished reading both Aurora AND Fireworks (till where you left it), and let me tell you they were AWESOME, though I am quite disappointed seeing how few views they had. BUT, I hope with time, more people could have the PLEASURE to enjoy your comics as I did.
Now, with Aurora I was kinda lost with the lack of contextual information (like, what was the relationship between Lamp and Geoff? They look like weird siblings somehow), but the important stuff was very clear so I let it pass.
And with Fireworks, I am pretty lost with the order of the story (though it is not finished, so I think it is my temporary problem), and the characters are so weird, that being weirder won't change their nature (which is what make them cool).
That said, I thank you for making such wonderful comics, which made me have a very good time.

Thank you for the kind words! Yeah the Aurora tournament is hard to follow without everyone else's story. Lamp was a side character from s story that I liked a lot and tied into Geoff's story. She's a love interest at times, but is more important as emotional support and being generally humorous. Also I was not a great story teller back then and I still have a lot to learn. Fireworks has taught me a lot. Fireworks has just been a botch job all the way through haha. Hopefully my future comics turn out better.
