Hehe, I found your page using the 'random deviant' button - and looking at your icon and webcam.. makes me want to play Star Ocean all over again!! (:
Faize was hands down my favorite character. . .
Sorry for this. I don't mean to bother you with randomness.

I remember thinking, "Oh, how nice and normal! He's got a picture of a random pretty anime girl set as his IM icon! "
Now I see quite some time later that I was quite mistaken. XD That show is wrong...YOOOOOOO.

*Laughs*
I'm rarely normal, but I'm always nice! I thought it was a good pic. It doesn't matter where a pic is from, if it's a good shot, it's a good shot and I have no problem putting it on my IM.
But you are right. That anime is taking it a little tiny bit too far. And now you have YOOOOOO stuck in my head. Well done!

Still alive. Still functioning. With a few 'delayed projects' (woot). BUT I'm still lurking around somewhat. At least.

Hmmm...we never saw Eldarian guns, did we?
The Earth ones were pretty snazzy, but I'd imagine Eldarian ones are smaller, lighter, and perhaps collapseable... I'd think an almost Xenosagaish design since the Eldarians are quite advanced in technology.
Here's an example: [link]
And Arumat totally got his scythe from KOS-MOS. XD [link]

I'd imagine Eldarian weapons to look very gleamy, and sleek. Not 'alien looking', quite similier to human weapons, but with a more 'italiasized' design.
Your link could be a good example, yes. Here is another. [link]
And another.

Those first ones look very good. I agree, they'd have the same overall design, though they'd just be a bit different so they had the look of the other Eldarian technology.
I wonder if there were any laying around the Exploration Base...

Smooth way to word it. It's interesting because it's a more realistic pairing in the game's immediate timeline.

Bain-Striker In reply to RollingTomorrow [2010-01-29 01:13:21 +0000 UTC]
I'm a fantasy man, but I try to make things as real as possible to the reader/viewer. Faize became unstable because he was rapidly falling for her, and she died. Period. That's what happened. I can tell when a guy falls for a girl. He was immediatly interested in her, and all he cared about in the Purgatorium was finding her after he found out she was there. I never saw Faize fight so hard for something, anytime else, and he finally snapped when he realized she died.
He was feeling the emotion of love, and he wanted it, he wanted her, and it was unfufilled, and he never had a chance to say anything to her about it. That's what breaks your heart. That's what I'm putting in the Faize character myself. That's why I love that pair.

RollingTomorrow In reply to Bain-Striker [2010-01-30 03:13:11 +0000 UTC]
Indeed; not much time passed after they met, but it's an interesting relationship. Less barriers and more direct than with Lymle, since they were more compatible for eachother. Between that and what happened to Eldar, the fate that befell him isn't a surprise. It doesn't matter how long you've known a person if you care for them, after all; it's still painful when they're gone.
The only time I really write Faize/Amina was in the "Hold Me Until I Break" oneshot...it's hard not to get conflicted feedback though. XD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Bain-Striker In reply to RollingTomorrow [2010-01-30 23:12:13 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. I know that much. Faize stayed behind the group for a while, just looking at her. I think it was the first time he found a girl he was compatible with. Faize isn't that much of a romantic guy because I believe he doesn't know how to approach people. I think that it what happened there. He was just too shy, and he had to leave, duty called. He made it a promise of his to come back though.
It's difficult because if he did love her then she would have to have gotten caught up in everything, so much more complicated then her simple life she had lived.
If you write Faize/Amina, I'll support you. If I do that then those other hateful comments won't stand out as much. I'm all for detecting these hints in the game that shows you who people really belong to, or things that might happen. (For example, Edge and Myuria's sexual tension). Nothing is 100% certain.
Minus the anime 'style' of storytelling, 'Fymle' will make no sense.

Indeed; Eldar has such a serious feeling and since almost no one is naturally born, it would make sense the traditions of marriage and the like aren't nearly as common as a less developed society. It'd almost be a needless union in some views.
I've actually had a few AU ideas for Faize/Amina, but nothing too substancial within the storyline...any suggesstions?

RollingTomorrow In reply to Bain-Striker [2010-02-03 00:40:06 +0000 UTC]
XD Bah, remember this about the idea stealing gremlins! It doesn't matter if a good writer's ideas are stolen because there's no possible way for the stealer to write the idea better than the author.
For good authors. Can't say the same about average ones...
