I don't really have tips but here are some important things to remember:
- The best way to get better at art is to practice.
Everyone says it, I know, but it's because it's true. Practice is key to helping you achieve your art goals. Don't give up.
- Draw as much as you are able to.
You may not be able to draw everyday, and that's ok, but draw when you have the energy to.
- If you get bored or stuck, try another way.
Change your medium, play around with your style, even try drawing different things in general- try something you normally wouldn't, it can really help with art block sometimes.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help.
its ok to ask for assistance from other artists you admire (given that they have time to give pointers.) even if asking for help is straight up asking for a redline of your work, its ok to ask for it.
- References are 100% a legitimate resource.
you cant learn to draw the world around you without actually studying it. use references, even if its just google searching.
- You're not going to make masterpieces all the time.
your arts going to suck most of the time, but it ties in with the "practice makes perfect" cliche. Be patient.
- There will always be someone better then you.
Try not to be to hard on yourself- comparing yourself to artists who've had months and years more practice and life experience then you is just not fair to yourself. You will get there, I promise. Be kind to yourself.
