I've been good! I'm at an art college this year so I've been doing a lot of art... but all assignments and haven't had a lot of time for personal work. But I've been enjoying it! What have you been up to?

Just got my waitlist letter! I'll be finding out if I'm in at a random date between May and September.... o_o how am I supposed to wait that long?! So much better than being rejected though. xD

Yay that means there is still plenty of hope. You find out between May and September? That is so late...the college commitment and tuition deposit date is May 1st for pretty much every school so they should give you a verdict by them. I don't know if this will make you feel better but the statistic at RISD 1 or 2 years ago is that a little over 300 people were wait listed and 43 got in (I was reading the ULTIMATE COLLEGE GUIDE).
That is actually a pretty good number because I have seen some schools where a ton a people are wait listed and less than 10 people are accepted. I don't know how you didn't get in, your bicycle piece was amazing and I am sure the rest of your work was too. Even if you don't get into RISD you already got into MICA and SVA and those are great schools too.

Tomorrow I can call and find out what priority-tier I'm in, so that'll tell me whether or not it's likely. According to the letter I got, over the past 5 years, acceptance of wait listed students ranges from 0-60%... hugeee range.
What'll happen is I'll make a deposit to a safety school, and if I get in (usually find out in May or June, but depends how high you are on the list) I can turn down the school I made the deposit to and go to RISD instead. (And get my deposit refunded yay! haha)
My parents both were wait listed at there top choice law schools -and accepted- but very late. My dad found out after he packed up his moving truck to move to his safety, and my mom found out she was accepted to hers as she was moving into her safety-school dorm... so neither ended up going to their top-choice. xD But, as a result, I exist so yay! x)
Yeah apparently they lowered the RISD acceptance rate this year (you should feel awesome - it was only about 25% this year!) because they've been overbooked in the past, so hopefully this won't be a 0% wait-list year haha! I just hope I find out soon because it's been hard enough to wait this long. xD
Yep! It's going to be hard to choose a second choice school, I haven't even heard back from them all yet~

It is good that you can have some idea where you are ranked among the others.
0 - 60%...that is ridiculous.
I can't believe both of your parents were accepted so late hopefully RISD won't contact you about your acceptance as you are moving into your dorm. That would be awkward.
Wow I can't believe the RISD acceptance rate was only about 25%. That is a big difference but it will mean better chances for you to get in! Yay!

(On a random note, my Uncle just got engaged! And he lives in the same city as you so if I'm able to go to his wedding (it really depends on when it is... which is something I have absolutely no clue about... maybe this summer but maybe not..) maybe I'll be able to run into you! (though I still have no idea if I can go, this seems relevant!))

Hopefully RISD will be good about financial aid. College is unreasonably expensive. :\ You can always look for outside scholarships too~
I'll probs get my letter today or tomorrow, I'll let you know what it says! As long as I'm not rejected I'm happy. x)
