Well I am not as good as most of the UTAU users I know but I will give you the tips I know that helped me improve qwq

1. Never start off with VCV, VCCV, CVVC, etc. Start off with CV, this is so you can learn how to pronounce the sounds better and get practice with recording.

2. Always leave a space before you record. Basically, leave the software to record for a few seconds, 3+ seconds allows someone to oto the bank better and make the CV bank more smooth than most you find.

3. Listen to other voicebanks so you can understand how others record their banks and get an idea of how to pronounce things properly. 

4. If you move on to VCV banks, use background guide music. This helps with timing and allows it to be easily oto'd.

5. Use Oremo! It's a really good program for recording voicebanks!

This is all I can think of as of right now ;o; I hope these makes sense.
