I hear the studio who made it before couldn't recover from the tsunami (or something like that) a few years back, so I don't know if Rosario season 3 is going to be out any time soon :/

Another series with a spectacular ending! I'll admit, it felt somewhat rushed, but man, they covered all bases I'd say. And they even left it open for more if they want to! (They won't, I'm sure due to the final page but still)
Man, Rosario went from mediocre but endearing in the first series to among my tops in the second.
(Spoilers)
Akasha and Alucard's relationship reminded me somewhat of Marceline and Ice King, if you've ever watched Adventure Time.

Al-Fatman In reply to AskTsukune [2014-02-09 06:04:41 +0000 UTC]
It was a little rushed but there's so much you can only do in 30 pages.Β
I don't believe that, it may not be back for a while but I'd say it'll be back. There's just so much story to go on with, plus there's still the epilogue, we may get some answers in that.
Rosario Vampire was what got me into the world of anime and mangas. I had always been a fan of Dragonball Z and Naruto but I never realised how many good animes/mangas there was. And like a lot of people, I found the anime first from that Youtube video "Kurumu Is The Best Damn Thing".
Shame that Gonzo couldn't recover from the Tsunami. A remake version would've been cool, one that followed the manga more.
I'm a little too old for Adventure Time, despite that most people my age watch it! It's just not for me.
I will admit, the Bacon Pancakes song is fricking awesome.

Oddly enough Rosario had gotten me into it as well, back in my old days of struggling to accept that I liked something that was a bit out of the norm. I jad watched things like Inuyasha and a few Studio Ghibli titles back when I was a young'in so I knew I kind of enjoyed anime and manga, but I always saw it as weird and pornographic. I saw another Rosario ask profile here on dA whilst I was using an account that I no longer use and chatted that character up, getting to know little bits about the series. Then I looked up clips on YouTube and saw someone did an AMV and had a few clips of it, so I decided to check it out. I watched the entire season that night and was hooked, and began to binge on other series I could find. I read all of Karin within two days and finished off Elfen Lied in about a week. (Both heart-wrenching endings but they also have some light to them) Ever since then my bookmarks collection on my firefox and chrome has grown to 50+ anime and manga series, and I've gotten my younger sibling into some series. I just need to wait until she becomes better at reading in English before I show her more, since I watch a lot of subbed series. (If I watch the anme at all, since I'm pretty much a manga/light novel purist XD)

I don't know what you're talking about. Your father found an application for the Academy and you left, remember? XD
That's still pretty cool, I understand how you feel! Sadly I'm the youngest in my family so since I'm an adult, my older siblings don't want anything to do with it. Although I will admit, I forced my dear old mum to watch Minato's death scene from Naruto Shippuden, she did cry a bit!
Same thing happened when I showed her the Sarah scene in The Last of Us.
I'm just about old enough to remember watching the Dragonball reruns, when Goku and Bulma travelled around the world, as well as the original Sonic animes. What really got me in was Pokemon: I was five when the games came out, six with the anime. I sand the theme song as school! XD I was too poor to buy them though, but every chance I could I did.
Still, I did get a friendo into RWBY and recently another into Attack On Titan.Β
Plenty more a-anime to go.Β

I cab be out of character sometimes, so what? XD
Naruto isn`t really my thing but that's also because I find myself unable to stand shounen series more and more lately. It just makes me sigh and wonder what I'm doing. It doesn't captivate me as much as the others do. That being said, though, there have been some good shounen-ish series that I've enjoyed for their wackiness.
I still haven't gotten around to watching any of those. I've been busy, and I'm going to be busy tomorrow. I figure I will sometime this weekend though

Al-Fatman In reply to AskTsukune [2014-02-15 05:59:48 +0000 UTC]
So what indeed. XD
I understand perfectly, it's lost most of it's glamour for me but only because I read ahead in the manga, so the surprise is spoiled to me. I only watch for the voice acting; you can read it a lot with the character in your had but they pull it off for you to enjoy without trying. Lazy, aren't I?
I kinda stopped watching the Shippuden English Dub though...I'm reading a manga two years ahead of watching the anime while watching the Dubbed version that's over two years older than that.
The entirety of Tumblr have been freaking out over Kill La Kill, I've been meaning to check that out myself. Looks incredibly crude though.

Ugh dubbed versions of animes can REALLY put me off as well. Most of the time, the original is so much better, but I get a little flak for it because I seem like a purist. I just think you shouldn't try to fix what isn't broken. So I understand what you mean by enjoying the voices. The only time I've ever thought the dub was superior was in the case of Spirited Away. The Japanese version's voices just don't fit, in my opinion.
I haven't heard of that. What is is about?

AskTsukune In reply to Al-Fatman [2014-02-18 22:33:13 +0000 UTC]
I thought they already had an english dub, haha. I'm still getting around to watching it, just procrastinating. It's really difficult to stream on my laptop upstairs as of late because we all switched from satellite TV to just internet with netflix, so not only is there more of a strain on there bandwidth, my system itself is slow on the uptake and I have no way of doing a wipe and restoring data. That contributes to my reluctance to stream anything unless I'm on the computer hooked in via ethernet cable, but everyone's down there all the time and when watching anime, while not closeted about it at all, I'm a little shy with it.
π: 0 β©: 1
Al-Fatman In reply to AskTsukune [2014-02-20 06:25:58 +0000 UTC]
Nope nope, just some fan dubs. XD
You're shy to show anime to your family yet you have an anime persona? Interesting. No need to be shy buddy! Anime is just another form of entertainment, just expect the odd person to accuse you for watching Hentai in public. XD
If it makes you feel better, I actually keep a little Mizore figure on my carkeys, I like having "Jinglies" as I call them on my keys so I can feel it in my pocket, that way I know its there. Not only Mizore, but I've also got a Sonic shoe, a St Kilda Saint (Australian Footy figurine) and some other stuff. ^.^
Besides, if you're in highschool, there's nothing cooler than watching anime in class. All the guys behind you ignore the work and watch it with you. XD In fact, my buddy Pete and I used to watch new Naruto eps all through English and if we weren't watching them, I "loaned" him my laptop so he could play a Mario Kart 64 Emulator.Β

AskTsukune In reply to Al-Fatman [2014-02-21 00:54:37 +0000 UTC]
Well as I said, I'm not EXACTLY shy about it, they know that I do since I've recommended stuff to my younger sister and they pretty much go through me to know if it's alright for her to view. I just don't like watching it in front of them for some reason, even though my mother is nothing but supportive of me. Its one of those things I can hardly explain myself.
I have a "Jingly" too, only it's Edward Elric and I call it a dangly XD My mum's friend made it for me. I just need a keyring to put it on.
No man, class is for working. As much as I do enjoy lazing about, I'm pretty serious about school. Besides, not a lot people are particularly supportive about it, and the ones who are are around 80% of the time not my cup of tea. It's not that I really care what those people think, I just don't want top start drama where its unnecessary

Al-Fatman In reply to AskTsukune [2014-02-28 13:18:23 +0000 UTC]
That's all good buddy, I'm sorry if I caused offense! My family has always looked down at it. They think my drawings/colourings are "fascinating" but, and I quote, "Why does the girl have weird eyes? Is she (Mizore) an alien with tentacles or something?"
Nice! Well, since I've lived on the street, you wanna make sure you have everything. If my jinglies are poking my leg, I know they're still there. I should take a photo....I used to use a wallet with a chain, but it rusted out and a thief broke the chain trying to steal it!
You need to embrace the Aussie in you! When we work, we work. 90% of the rest of our time, we slack. IT'S THE AUSTRALIAN WAY. That's fair enough though, I respect that. Highschool drama...ugh, god I remember that too well. Let me warn you though my friend, don't agree to something you didn't hear the question to.
9 years since I started Junior highschool and people still think I have a Chode. XD
π: 0 β©: 1
AskTsukune In reply to Al-Fatman [2014-03-01 04:35:38 +0000 UTC]
I'm pretty sure you didn't cause offense, don't worry ^^ It's just hard to convey tone and meaning through text a lot of the time.
That sounds like it sucked, but at the same time, at least you had the chain. Jinglies are great for knowing that your keys are there, but, as the name states, they jingle, so sometimes they can be a nuisance when you don't want them to be.
Embracing my inner Aussie sounds hard XD I'll probably visit sometime though, since Australia is one of those places I'd love to see (So many places I want to see) As for high school drama, ehh, I seem to be in good enough standings by most people so I'm not too worried. The only thing is that somebody straight up pointed at me while I was within reaching distance and said "I don't like that one." So the next time I saw her I did the same thing to her. That's pretty much the worst story I have
π: 0 β©: 1
Al-Fatman In reply to AskTsukune [2014-03-01 07:51:38 +0000 UTC]
All good, I was just worried I did somehow!
Exactly. Now that I don't have a chain I'm constantly patting, damn near frisking, my pockets to see if I still have my wallet or phone. True, and they weigh down a lot when you put the key into your car's ignition but that's how I like it. Australia is a pretty cool place, I've been meaning to visit a lot of places in the future, I just don't have the funds or the time anymore.
Don't freak out too much, all the drama stops by the time highschool starts to end. That's a pretty crap experience but definitely not the worst by far. We Aussies tend to take things beyond the point of forbidden.

Australia also sounds kinda dangerous what with the outback and its horrors. I realize that it's probably not very frequent at all in cities, but how often do you have to check for snakes or spiders while roaming about?
What do you mean by taking things too far? I don't understand.
π: 0 β©: 1
Al-Fatman In reply to AskTsukune [2014-03-06 10:42:05 +0000 UTC]
You're right there, it's kind of an area thing. For me, I keep an eye out everywhere, spiders hide mostly in cars or doors, and snakes are prone to my area and I've found three deadly ones in my backyard.Β
I didn't mean to intrude on your personal life, that was my form of a cruddy apology. ^.^

That's pretty much the thing that scares me the most because I am horrible with bugs, plus living in Canada, we don't have very many animal hazards to watch for, unless you go for a hike through deep woods. Then you might run intoΒ bear, but that's pretty much it.
I didn't even take it offensively, don't worry. I don't take offenice easily, and when I do, I make it clear without freaking out. If it was an honest mistkae, no worries.

That's what I love about Canada, it seems really really peaceful for the most part. Even in Australia, the kind creatures can get you.
A kangaroo kick can kill you, cave in your entire ribs. Or if you accidentally hit them in a car, people have definitely died through that. That's kinda why the Australian animal is a kangaroo and emu. They're tough animals and they can't walk backwards, a symbol to the Australian spirit of never backing out. ^.^
Plus, Kangaroo...tasty. Some people hate it but it's damn tasty. Think of the large bite of red meat you've had and triple it.
Good to hear, just worried friendo. ^.^

For quiet and peaceful, it's the least populated areas that shine. The east coast in particular has some really great people, if not a little less connected than densely populated places like Ontario.

I agree, you do get those rare moments when the dub is much superior to the original. I have to admit, the Japanese dub of Rosario Vampire sounds flat and really dull. Nana Mizuki is great but a lot of the other characters just miss those key moments if you ask me. I agree, Spirited Away is just so good, it pretty much encouraged more dubs for the future. Howl's Moving Castle was another really good one and one of my personal favourites.
Watching a lot of the older animes, you notice a clear difference in voice acting. It may not be your scene but check out Chobits, English and Jap dub is just perfect. And on a side note, the older voice actors really give animes a pop. Look at Colleen Clinkenbeard: twenty years ago she was the voice of Young Gohan, pretty much my entire childhood. Not only was she Inner Moka and Angela from Black Butler but she's also going onto directing English dubs. Peeps go far.
I have NOOOOOOO idea what it's about. All I know is it's full of blood and gore, the costumes the characters wear is REALLY revealing and the entirety of Tumblr are making it the Attack On Titan of 2014.
π: 0 β©: 1
AskTsukune In reply to Al-Fatman [2014-02-18 22:29:58 +0000 UTC]
I haven't seen Rosario's jap dub, just the english, so I couldn't put my two cents in for that. I've read Chobits for quite a while, but honestly it got so flat and boring for me so quickly. I wanted to enjoy it, but the pacing was just a nightmare for me. Lovely romantic story that made me feel all warm inside, but the pacing killed it for me. Howl's Moving Castle had a great dub as well, I agree, but the story itself was kind of flat. Not unenjoyable, but lacking. But the scenery and the dialogue were phenomenal. I loved Calcifer ^^ And as for Coleen Clinkenbeard, I get excited whenever I hear her voice in anything. She's just so great. She was also Moxxi in Borderlands I believe
Hm, I tend not to hip aboard bandwagons for anime because half of the time it turns out to not be that great (Or not my bag, baby ) I really liked Death Note though, but I haven't gotten past the second volume. I will eventually, but it's alwasy going to be an option that I won't forget about, so it sits there in the back. Plus if you haven't, definitely check out Bakemonogatari. I'd say its my favorite anime series out there. I really enjoy Nisio Isin's style of storytelling, and his dialogue is just spectacular.

Al-Fatman In reply to AskTsukune [2014-02-20 06:33:08 +0000 UTC]
The Jap dub has Nana Mizuki (Hinata from Naruto) as Outer and Inner Moka and she does a fantastic job but a lot of the other voice cast seem really, really dull. Koa Chan has a normal speaking voice, no "WHEEE!" or puns to which I'm accustomed to. Have to admit though, Tia Ballard (Mizore) got a lot of hate for her role since she toned down Mizore's voice for the lollypop whereas Rie Kugimiya didn't.
Chobits' manga can be flat but the anime is much better for that fact, it follows the manga completely but the voice acting is phenomincal. SUMOMO RULES.
Close my friend! Colleen Clinkenbeard was the voice of Lillith, Moxxi was played by the gorgeous Brina Palencia (Kurumu), she even had a role on Walking Dead and now she's in some new show on Fox.
Same here friendo, in all honesty I fall on bandwagons when they're out of style! It's just what I do, that's why I'm a year late to Attack On Titan. Death Note is cool but it's just not my scene, I have no idea why but to me it seems...almost lazy.Β

AskTsukune In reply to Al-Fatman [2014-02-21 01:01:26 +0000 UTC]
I really liked Mizore's voice in the english dub though! She's supposed to be quiet and somewhat creepy sounding, it just adds to her stalker points.
Well perhaps I'll give the anime a go then after many other that are on my list.
Ah still, Clinkenbeard rules, and Brina Palencia is another I'll have to look out for from now on
I just don't like bandwagons much, plus I heard of AoT a long time ago, I just never gave it a look-see. But, like many others, its on the list.

Mizore is voice by the lovely Tia Ballard. She's so incredibly sweet, crazy obsessed with Disney movies though.
Clinkenbeard is awesome, Brina is just as cool, she's on that show Star Crossed now, that's what I was thinking of.
Exactly, I always get on bandwagons late, but AoT is definitely worth it.Β

She's been a fair bit in her time. You'd be surprised finding the R+V cast in other animes.Β
And with Attack On Titan on the way, I really hope Todd Haberkorn gets the role of Eren. He'd KILL that role.
