((Excuse me, I don't mean to sound rude but I have a question regarding your character. If she is canadain, and her parents are Scotland and Ireland (which that itself is partly inaccurate...) why is her skintone so dark...? I'm not trying to cause trouble I just find that a little odd... ))

((Cape Breton has the highest Native Canadian population in the province of Nova Scotia- having the Waycobah, Whycocomagh, Eskasoni, and Chapel Island reserves, among others. She was previously Caucasian, but I was frequently suggested to more prominently use her Mi'kmaq heritage, so I changed her ethnicity.))

((Ah I see. That makes some sense then What about Scotland and Ireland being her parents though? That kinda cnfuses me since I was lead to belive here was only a small amount of irish settlers. From what I recall it was more french and british?

((Actually, Scotland had a huge influence over Cape Breton, especially since one of the first colonies was created by a Scotsman, Lord Ochiltree, during the Anglo-French War that was occuring to the slight West- 1629, to be exact. France defeated the Scots about a year or so later, creating the village of St. Peter's. In the 1700s, England banished the Mainland's Acadians to Cape Breton and elsewhere, many of them arriving at the Fortress of Louisbourg, which was England's main concern with the island. The Fortress led to constant fighting between the French and English nations in the 1700s timeframe, until England essentially blew it to bits in one of its many battles.
Ireland's settling was rather small, but is also made some of the most drastic changes in culture, especially when it blended with the Scottish heritage. It is most frequently seen through the Celtic festivals- which make up a large percentage of tourist economy- and Gaelic dialects that call home in smaller communities such as Judique, Mabou, etc. Irish and Scottish music blend together- each making up roughly half of the inspired style of the area.
Sorry... I just hit you with a brick of information I've gotten from being born and raised here... I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm calling you out or something... ._.'))

((Oh no, not at all. It's nice to have someone with valid reasons for their character ^^ Unlike a certain Illinois OC I have encountered, who had England the father insteand of the more accurate one of France, mainly becuase they didn't like that character = =lll You though have valid reasons for your character and clearly shown you did research, I as just confused and wanted to clarify some things which you did, so thank you ^^ ))

((I can't help but feel that I was being harsh ;_;
In that case, the Illinois isn't much more than a self-insert, if you think about it... It's one thing to make an honest mistake, but really? -.-;
Thank you for that, then. I appreciate asking for clarification in such a mature manner. c:
And it's never a problem, and no need for thanks, really. ))

((Oh no, I've talked to people about their OCs that have flat out RAGED at me for pointing something out in a poilete manner = =; Like the Illionis one. The France had Illionis for 90 yrs, only gave it up when he lost the french indain war to England. England only had Illionis for 20 yrs, and from I recall did not do a good job taking care of it. So in my opinion France would've been the better father figure you know? I pointed this out and the person went apeshit = =;
I mean my Oregon OC is not exactly prefect either but I have reasons for her lookds and cannon relations and I change things when I find out something new. Like you, I based her look more on the native americans since they were first. I know that Spain colonized on the Orego Coast in the 1500s for 200 yrs, thus I fugred he would be kinda like a father figure to her and he would be the one that gave her her human name, Maria. I also have England kida like a father figure to her too, even though he had for a shorter time mainl becuase I found he did not give up the Oregon territory easily. The war of 1812 infact was partly caused over Oregon land, and Oregon was most major diplomatic issue for the first half the 19th centry. A third war infact was almost happened. So I in my mind he had to care a bit to fight that much over Oregon you know?
Annnd it looks like it was my turn to give you a wall of text. Sorry! XD ))

((My opinion is that if you can't take an honest critique, you either shouldn't be submitting; or better, learn to accept criticism, because otherwise, it's going to hit you like bricks in the real world.I mean, even your question obviously took time for you to think over, as you mentioned it confused you, so people at least need to appreciate the fact that someone thought over your work and wants to help in terms of accurate improvement.
No designs are perfect, not even Himapapa's- I mean, nothing is perfect, and the characters are meant to be playful stereotypes, anyway.
No, I understand your reasoning for Oregon, perfectly. I don't know much about the States, but you set it up in a rather user-friendly, but properly logical way. I like that you noted how the War was partly caused by the land dispute- I doubt a lot of people know that, as I certainly didn't. O.o
Trust me, you needn't apologize. It's nice to have an in-depth discussion over the characters and history, since a lot of OCs are here for fun, so I don't get to discuss this type of thing very often. ^^))

(( Yeah that person was like "I'm keeping my character like this no matter what" to which I was like "Ok good luck in the rp world then" becuase there are a lot of people that won't rp with innacurate APH OCs :/ Hopefully someday they will get out of that stubborn funk of theirs, and realize that some changing around with a character isn't a bad thing. *Shrug*
yeah even I was surpised when I found this. Apparently when the british was fighting the french back in europe, only a small amount of their milita was in Oregon. So the Americans thought it was be an easy take. But it didn't exactly work out that way. There isn't no offical info that says which side one. Sone say the british, others say the americans. hat is knowen is that it ended witha treaty and each nation got back ownership of whatever bit a land they had before that war happened. I like "o-o whoah." when I found this out. Al this over a bit of territory XD...
Only issue I'm having is find mout more on cannon relations. I know her and China might be friends since China is Oregon's to exporter. Oregon also exports with alot of the European contries. UK, Germany, France, Russia (that's one brave state lol) and so on. One thing I am very proud of thoug is that Oregon is the Christmass Tree Capital of the world =u= So we kno where America gets his HUGE Chirstmass trees for his parties XD ))
