I'm working on a Legend of Zelda fanfic and I was planning on having Zelda turn into an animal form. So I was wondering, could I use your pic of Zelda as a fox for reference for the fanfic?

i had to finish a commission first x3 (plus a lot of my energy this week went into thinking about how similar this movie, toy story 4, and HTTYD3 ended up being, in terms of themes dealing with identity, change, and their endings.)

I didn't see HTTYD3 (but also haven't seen 2), but I am starting to notice (and be slightly annoyed by) the fact that a lot of "sequel" movies since Toy Story 3 tend to have at least one specific thing in common at the end.

For each, separate, individual movie, the endings have been powerful and amazing, but now that I'm seeing the pattern...oof...it's cheapened them all a little bit for me and it's taking a lot to get me through it and still enjoy the movies regardless. Studios are gonna eventually need to ease up on it though - I'm not the type who can usually guess how a movie is going to end, but because I accidentally picked up on "the pattern", I knew where we were going exactly halfway through Toy Story 4. I HATE when I figure things out in advance!

Haha, thanks! if you wanna be realllllly technically, I never saw Elsa as an arctic fox, because that would make her a different species of fox from Anna, just a red fox who was white (I once thought that they maybe turned white in winter, but that seems to be incorrect; they can be white but it's extremely rare.) Were I to draw these two again, which I might once Frozen 2 comes out and I'm drawn back into the world of the icy love of my life, I might draw her as a platinum red fox morph, cause that seems to be a little more common than pure white and I could probably get away with making the grey kind of blueish. (Or perhaps a gold platinum one, which are yellow; that could work since she's blonde.)

OHH I have to be honest, I said "arctic fox", but what I meant was just a white red fox, because I think I remember you discussing that part in a bit of depth, but I decided to condense all that into something totally inaccurate to save typing space. xD HONESTLY, I try not to worry too much about accuracy to real animals anymore (for instance, I stopped making my "doggified" characters into specific breeds, in an effort to concentrate more on the accuracy of their design), so the way I see it go wild my friend and don't look back. Elsa can just be a morph, this is your own little world.

I'm in a total Frozen mood atm thanks to a mobile game called Disney Heroes, and the fact that Frozen 2 is right around the corner. I'm losin it. And so of course I ran straight to your page.

I have a desire to draw Anna and Elsa as foxes. D; I mean, you know I always go "dog", but your foxy versions just. They just work.

I USED to not really think about the kind of thing, waaaaay back when; like ex, I don't have a specific cat breed in mind when I draw Larxene, she's just a yellow cat. My dogs were rarely ever any kind of breed, they were just trying to look like this character as much as possible. (My most extreme was whenever I'd draw Sailor Moon characters, where they would be like, fully blue or purple or pink.) I'm not really sure when and why I started focusing more on breeds/species. Admittedly yeah there is a freedom to just "it's [character] as a dog/cat/etc, they're yellow" but I also find satisfaction in finding a specific breed of dog that fits the look and vibe of a character. I think because certain animals (especially for dogs where the breeds differ sooo wildly) can have so much personality just by the way they look or what they were bred to do, or where they're from, finding a match can be fun on it's own. Drawing Black Widow as a red cat works fine - she's very cat-line, she oozes that feline grace - but there's definitely something about also making her a red husky (they're naturally that color, have striking eyes, and are the probably the dog that most often brings up the image of russia) that works really well. Plus sometimes if I get super into it, then I'll imagine it as like a "if they were actually animals, with owners and dog parks and all au" and it's fun to ground that in reality.

(Actually, that might be why; maybe it started when I slowly learned to draw humans. Animal forms have become less a "short hand, a visual representation" and more "they actually are this animal" so I think a little bit more in how they would actually work in real life.) That said I'm not afraid to get a little wacky with it; recently I drew a dragon age character as a corgi, and while they do come in yellow-ish color called fawn, i doubt they're as blonde-yellow as i made her lol.

Haha, i dunno why foxes work for them so well. Maybe it's just cause they're some of the only creatures that naturally come in both orange (like straight up orange) and white. They could probably also be dogs, like those spitz or samoyd types. Anna's very retriever like. Cats could also work, you ever seen those white cats with huge blue eyes??? that shit's Elsa OuO

ASDHDGJAGKSK I TOTALLY GET THIS! That's how I started OUT. I'd have like, 7 physical encyclopedias of dog breeds on my floor and I'd look through them until I found the one, and then draw the character as that. But I started to realize that this was kind of me REALLY leaning on my crutch that is "character as dog because I can't draw humans", and was leading to me studying dogs and their traits rather than humans and theirs. So as of veeery recently, I reversed it. I think both methods are 100% totally fine, but it's funny how we kinda swapped on this one for different reasons!!

I think that is what it is! We know white foxes, and we associate them with cold, so Elsa just IS a damned white fox. And Anna is very very much a playful, frolicky red fox. You literally nailed it. It's one of those cases where everyone else can go home, peak character-as-animal has been achieved here. Congratulations, my friend.

I'm not kidding, there's a song from the Broadway Frozen called "Monster" that I absolutely can't get enough of, and if I could animate your white fox Elsa singing it by the gods I would do this. Although because of things I've heard about planned/canned concepts for KH3, a white wolf Elsa would fit this song, too.

A WHITE WOLF oh shit, that'd be fucking awesome. Very queenly and regal. I think the only down side to that is that wolves are freaking huge, while Elsa and Anna are pretty short (or, maybe they're average and they just seem short compared to Mountain Man Kristoff.) Like what would Kristoff be, a bear?? Also a wolf?

Would she have turned into a wolf in KH3? Or were there like wolf heartlesses?

If the broadway show ever came out where I live I'd totally wanna see it, tho admittedly, I'm also hesitant to engage with any material related to it cause like, it's not really the same unless Elsa's Idina. THAT'S my girl. (I feel the same way about Wicked, lol.) I hear it's good tho x3

They could be tiny wolves! I'm in full unrealistic mode at this point. Kristoff as a bear makes me happy though, I like it! OR HELL, MAKE HIM A REINDEER

I had heard Nomura had planned for her to become a heartless (boss battle) and that it would have resembled a white wolf. I heard this from a friend who is way deeper into Kingdom Hearts than I am, so I trusted the info, but in fairness, I haven't researched it myself. xD Regardless, I loved the idea. D;

I SO UNDERSTAND. Before Frozen came out in theaters, I had already bought the soundtrack BECAUSE Idina was involved, without knowing ANYTHING about the movie (but then didn't actually listen to it until later because I was afraid of spoilers!). Her voice is just godly!! I was a bit sad to hear she wouldn't be in the Broadway version, but the girl they got to play her (and also Anna) was still amazing, and it still blew my ass out of my seat when she sang Let it Go. (I wish Broadway wasn't so damn expensive, I want to see it again!)

The Broadway version has some very good and emotional songs, but Monster is above and beyond. If you need some inspiration fuel, give that song a listen, I promise it does not disappoint. and "True Love" tears my heart to pieces every time, too (poor Anna!)

ooooooh I think I remember someone (Hans???) turning into a wolf heartless, yeah, yeah. (Haven't played KH3 myself yet, just watched a playthrough of it right when it came out cause I was impatient and needed to see my girl Larxene now.) I guess that could've been cool if it was Elsa, but I also like that she's never falls to darkness. Tho maybe she and Larxene would've interacted more if that had actually happened lol. Alas, twas not to be, I used up all my good luck on that trailer.

oh man it'd be super cool to check out someday, maybe if me or a family member could afford it (especially since flying isn't a huge problem for me anymore.) It'd be great if it came here to Vegas tho, haha, makes that a lot easier. Who knows, maybe when Frozen 2 comes closer, it will xD(We had the Lion King Broadway out here for a while, might still do, so who knows, we could get Frozen!) Even if it's not quite the same, it seems like something really cool to experience live x3
