I could give you some tips if you want? Like, maybe see if the file they send you is flat colours so you can just steal them from the original pic? I love my pic, it's just something you could maybe do in the future?

Yeah~Also, this is something I've had to do loads of times, draw a few different preliminary sketches in different positions. It helps you get a better feel of the character and can help with dynamic posing. Really though, it looks awesometastic for your first!~

You're welcome! The sketches don't have to be really detailed, just the body and important (if there is any) props. It's a lot easier and more helpful than you probably think~

I usually(especially when drawing traditionally) start off a drawing by making a quick sketch of the picture on a different piece of paper, than draw it for real on another piece. I should probably do that more digitally.

Yeah, do you have layers in what program you use? Because layers help a lot with that. You can draw a sketch in one layer, then a cleaner sketch on another, and then lineart on the next.

Ikr?? Sometimes I'll color this really nice like eye or something, after like 15 minutes of doing the shading in it, I realize I'm on the same layer as the base.

I know right?! Except, I'm experimenting with my colouring styles. Haha. I'd probably just change the opacity of the brush and move on. Using the wrong base in art is probably my greatest pet peeve, though, so I know that feeling.
