Hello I’m Andres. You can follow me on www.instagram.com/andres7b9/ . And find my designs on teepublic, redbubble and society6 , just search Andres7B9. As kid I always loved to draw, but somewhere at the age of 20 it kind of faded. But again Early 2012 the idea of creating an digital comic popped up, inspired by e-books and new computer tools I created some comic pages using Inkscape and open office. Sadly I started drawing before I had a complete story and so it was never finished or published due to the lack of funny material and motivation. A few years later in 2017 there still was an urge to share my drawings, Facebook just didn’t have what I was looking for and it didn’t take very long that I discovered Deviantart it was ( and still is ) a great source of inspiration and tutorials. At some point a Dutch artist finelinervreter posted on Facebook some of her art for sell on Teepublic just at the time I was working on a drawing of the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo that was just perfect to put on a T-shirt in my opinion. So after a while when I was finished I opened up an account on Teepublic and uploaded my first design hoping for a sale within a week but it took 4 months before the first item was sold. Early 2018 I noticed that 2 websites Spreadshirt and Tostadora didn’t show my work when I searched for Andres7B9 and on both sites there were almost no visitors so I deceided to remove my shop from those 2 and I opened up a shop at Society6. Also planning on more marketing and use of social media just to get more views. My favorite way of making art / design is by first drawing it on paper and when it only needs some color I scan the drawing to finish with Gimp, a mix of old and new.Furthermore I’m a married man, proud Dad of a energetic girl and I’m a technician for a living. And since you came this far, my username / artistname Andres7B9 is just my first name Andres and my year of birth in hexadecimal. And yes I unleashed my inner geek when I came up with that idea, and probably only the geeks will now know how old I am.
To end this story: It all starts simply picking up a pencil and start drawing, everybody needs to practise. Good luck.
