It looks so nice for me! I will sometime put a photo up from my crochet blanket, I can't really crochet, so I crochet blocks.

Oh yeah... I had a lot of cake A friend of mine made me wonderful chocolate-amaretto-cake-pieces and Thomas baked a cake placed on another cake XD Omnomnom...

How are you? I heard you are going to move?

CookiemagiK In reply to Ainona [2012-05-20 06:16:40 +0000 UTC]

That sounds awesome

yes I've been very busy this whole weekend with the moving I even woke up at 6 today to pack as much of remaining things as possible. My friend comes to help drive my stuff in 15 minutes. It's been a stressful but exciting weekend ..and I've discovered that putting together Ikea furniture is just as fun as lego!

Ainona In reply to CookiemagiK [2012-05-21 17:44:09 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad you finally found a place you want to live in!
Haha, yeah I like putting stuff together too! But I rather avoid going to Ikea in the next months. Thomas and I were there some weeks ago. Evil. The first time we had a quarrel XD So no more Ikea. But I love do-it-yourself-stores! :exciting: Brushes, colours, Stanley knives and door knobs. Awesome. Not that I need any of these, but I like looking at them.
How long will it take till you have finally moved?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CookiemagiK In reply to Ainona [2012-05-22 10:41:55 +0000 UTC]

Haha yeah with all the various choices they offer at Ikea I can imagine how it would lead to conflicting interests xD
I have all the basic furniture in place now, although most of it is cheap, used stuff I bought online so my livingroom seems to be having a "crazy color-mix" theme right now. Hopefully I can afford better looking furniture after a few months. Starting from next tuesday I'll be permanentaly moving out of this place! I'm really excited. The only thing missing is a door to the bedroom... I have no idea why they never put a door, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to sleep a wink without a door there Apperently, my inner-child seems to still be scared of monsters and creepy things crawling out of open spaces.

Ainona In reply to CookiemagiK [2012-05-23 07:52:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it was like "Wooooow, what a nice cushion. Woooow, a chandelier! I need that chandelier!" - "No, you need a new boyfriend." He wasn't serious about that new-boyfriend-part, fortunately, but still, I always get a headache when I'm in Ikea.

I'm sure your living room looks great! I like it when a room has a character on its own, and old furniture has a lot of history, I like that. Make a photo when you are done and when you have some time left!!!

Monster in open spaces? Monsters under the bed, these are evil. But yeah, I can't sit and work in a room with a door open, too. Somehow I have the feeling that my ideas float away when the door isn't shut...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CookiemagiK In reply to Ainona [2012-06-26 17:04:26 +0000 UTC]

No more monsters! For I have the most epic door in place to keep them all away!

I seem to be not so good at checking my dA messages anymore xD I haven't logged in in over a month. I hope you have better luck at Ikea in the future How are things going over there otherwise? I visited my family this weekend so that I could convince/pressure my mom into making me a birthday cake xD I ended up getting Oreo cake with ice cream and some delicious biscuit pudding from my sister

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ainona In reply to CookiemagiK [2012-06-29 14:20:22 +0000 UTC]

Is the door green? I would like to have a green door.

Oh, you are not the only one who doesn't come along with answering messages... anyway, I didn't upload a thing for ages...

Sorry for being late but: HAPPY BIRTHDAY I think the biscuit-cake-Oreo-ice cream-epic-birthday-mixture sounds absolutely epic-awesome-birthday-like.

Things are fine over here, as concerning me. I did my last exam for this month and now I have a little more time, which I have to use well because the next semester will be a bit trickier; I'm going to be a tutor in Greek and in pedagogics and I'm quite looking forward to this...

And how are you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CookiemagiK In reply to Ainona [2012-06-30 07:35:35 +0000 UTC]

The door is white xD Sadly I don't have any green things in my apartment so if I got a green door it would have probably felt really lonely and suffered from doormatic depression

Thank you I took some home with me but I have no idea how long they last before getting bad so I'm trying to eat it all up as fast as possible

Wow being a greek tutor sounds so awesome and complicated at the same time. Do you come riding into school on a flying horse? That would sure make me want to learn greek! Good luck with the tutoring sessions. I hope you enjoy it

I'm doing alright. Just one more week of work and then I have holidays I'm going to Germany to see Irene for a week and then I'll be spending a week reading up for a certification I'm taking soon. Work has been really stressful lately so now I'm just counting the days until next friday when I can just throw away everything and go into lazy mode

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ainona In reply to CookiemagiK [2012-07-16 15:12:47 +0000 UTC]

Ooooh, you definitely need something green Green stuff is great, it makes you feel like being in a garden...

Yeah, you are right about the flying horse, the university provides Greek teachers with those vehicles. Also I have to wear white sheets and sandals, even in winter, which is the hardest part of the job

What certification is it you are taking? Lazy mood sounds good, I think that's what I'm in at the moment... I have an exam in two days and yet I see no reason why I should start learning...
How was it in Germanyyyy?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CookiemagiK In reply to Ainona [2012-07-18 04:32:27 +0000 UTC]

Awh well at least they are giving you a uniform that matches with the horse. Just look out for thunderstorms when you are flying up there!

I'm taking a certification in a programming language called Ruby I actually wanted to take it this Friday since I have all this week to prepare but the test center is closed for the summer and I'll have to take it the 30th of July. It includes a lot of memorizing so I hope I remember everything until then
What is your exam about?

Germany was a lot of fun! Time went so fast it felt more like 2 days and not 8 Although the few german words and sentences that I've learned so far were no good against all those super-fast-talking-germans

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ainona In reply to CookiemagiK [2012-07-20 19:04:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they really care for us. And anyway, the horse only flies when the weather is nice, it refuses to start in the rain because the water would wash the colour off...

Good luck for your exam - especially for your long-term memory
My exam was about the history and politics of the Byzantine empire... it was a really really nice exam because the professor asked such open questions which were easy to answer and he didn't inquire, so it was just like a nice talk. I have a theory that the really clever professors and good scientists are the nicest examiners because they know exactly how tricky their subjects are...

Naaaaw... next time you will understand them better. But I think the German dialects are really tricky. Did you take German lessons or in which way did you learn?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CookiemagiK In reply to Ainona [2012-08-05 18:45:12 +0000 UTC]

Glad to hear your exam went well Mine also went quite smoothly and I passed by a good margin. Now I just need to wait for my certificate which gets mailed to me from Japan

I have this program on my computer that's really good for learning new languages (Rosetta Stone) and it has 3 german modules so I've tried going through that. I started about 6 months ago but after finishing the first module I decided to take a little break. It's kinda boring sitting alone in front of a computer repeating things to myself xD I'm trying to find other ways of learning now. Irene showed me this web comic that's in german [link] and I'm able to understand some of it so I keep checking in on that every now and then

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ainona In reply to CookiemagiK [2012-08-13 14:01:09 +0000 UTC]

Yay, congrats!

I can imagine it's boring to learn a new language all alone... the biggest fun in learning a language is to talk and to see you can chat with other people, but alone with a computer voice... not so attractive.
I love this comic! Most of all I like the lemmings, and death of course with its poodle and the rubber duck... it's just adorable!

Hi! So nice to hear from you! Yeah I know, studying takes up most of my time at the moment and in the evenings I'm mostly far to lazy to load up pictures... but I promise I will soon! I did some nice things lately and I'm working on a new quilt
How are you doing? New bags in sight?

mbeki In reply to Ainona [2012-02-14 20:40:05 +0000 UTC]

Glad you are still out there! Studying? What? I plan a bag, so far its only in my head but I will start soon! Yes please load up some pictures of your quilt so far.

Winter is nearing, so my next 'project' will be finishing the charity children jerseys from last year and of course the scarves.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ainona In reply to mbeki [2012-02-20 20:17:51 +0000 UTC]

I'm studying Classics, especially Ancient Greek And there are some exams to be done at the moment, so unfortunately I didn't manage to upload pictures so far... but soooon! I promise
Oh, what kind of bag are you going to make?

That's so cool that you create things for charity. So cool! Tell me more about the scarves!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mbeki In reply to Ainona [2012-02-20 20:30:35 +0000 UTC]

All what I can say is GOOD LUCK with Ancient Greek!

I'm knitting for a couple of years children jerseys for charity, must say it was all knitted on my knitting machine, then I started to crochet and hand-knit scarves also for charity. In SA are so many charity cases, you know we have a large number of Aids orphans and of course also a lot of children where the parents are unemployed for a couple of years already. The state do give child allowance but it is still not enough to make ends meet. I plan to make for myself a slingbag from fabric and then 2 or more for the end of the year Christmas Markets also for charity organizations.
I'm looking forward for those pictures from you!
Go well!

I hoped so... I copied the Llamas from a German comic drawer and changed the text a bit I hope it's Norwegian. If not: blame your girlfriend

Haven't heard much from you lately, work seems to be quite distressing and engaging... how are things?

CookiemagiK In reply to Ainona [2012-01-09 19:30:54 +0000 UTC]

The norwegian text fits perfectly I'm keeping it by my window. ^__^

Work seems to be taking up most of my time, and the little I have left I'm spending on reading, learning german online, and looking for an apartment to buy

How about you? How are things going over there?
