So, how is life Adam? Have I missed something in the last months?

Lets see... Damn, really havnt spoke to you in a while have I?
To be honest quite a lot of my time this year I've spent being very, very boring and directionless, so not many tales to tell i'm afraid, but here goes
.
School finished at last as I finished my exams with some decent passing grades. I got together with someone and went on holiday with her down at the coast which was great
Went and saw, what to me was, an enormous concert of 65,000 people or so; which was louder and angrier than anything I'd ever seen XD.
I went to a few conventions with some friends, which led to the strange scenario of getting a thinly disguised bastard sword through the London train system XD.
My family went on holiday for 3 weeks leaving me to look after myself, the house and anyone who came over, which was a hell of an experience for better or worse.
And finally and most recently me and the aforementioned girlfriend broke up, which has be feeling a bit down at the moment, but I'll be fine.
How have things been for you?
Nice to see ya again

Nice to see you to! haha. I havn't been active here for a while. Again. Couldn't find enough time to answer and update things. But now I'm finally here Again.
Wow, it sounds like you've had a mostly nice time, with lots of new experiences. I'm sorry to hear about the breakup. Hopefully you'll be feeling alright soon..
But wow, 65 000 people? That is about six times my municipality! I can't imagine that much people at the same time! Was it some band I know about or something?
I have no idea of how I spent this summer. I know I went to Norway for a one day trip. Love Norway. Norwegian is such a charming language. Sounds like they are very happy all the time. And then I know I had some nice time in the Midsummer celebrations, with family and old friends. But the remaining pieces of the summer are gone. Probably I spent most of my time in bed, trying to recover from the last rough time in school. And the rest of the time i spent on the shooting range. And most important of all, I almost forgot, I got my drivers licence! The relief is unbelievable..

Woo!
6 times? Wow, well that helps me appreciate the sight, the area we were in was a sort of outdoor arena and by the end of the night it was basically just people shoulder to shoulder as far as you could see, craaazy. It was a gig for the Prodigy, but there were a lot of supporting acts as well. Mostly stuff that I don't normally listen to actually but I went with friends and thought it was awesome nevertheless .
I'll leave the other reply for asking about school . Wow you went to a shooting range? Didn't see that coming. What sort of guns did you fire, and are you any good? . And Congrats on the driving licence! I'm still doing my lessons so I'm quite envious right now, enjoy the freedom anyway

No, i only sent the message yesterday I meant this weekend, we should go and see her. I went to the apartment the other day and...yeah. I don't know if you know where this is, but it's near North Row, near the city centre - like, right opposite the centre??...yeeeahhh, it's there, i'm afraid. I don't want to appear snobbish or whatever, but it really is extraordinary - has to be seen to be believed!!!
Put it this way - when i got back from there, the first thing i did was apologise to my mum (we'd been arguing that morning) and made her promise not to throw me out the house.

Okay, could you make it to the city for about 11:30/12-ish?? I'll meet you by - you know when you're walking from the centre to campbell park, there's a statue of a horse near some banks? That's kind of near Anastacia's place - i'll meet you there, and then i'll show you where her place is. Let me know if that's okay!!

When you and i and Kathryn get together for psych revision (when are we planning that btw? i sort of need to know soonish - i'm pretty busy this holiday), do you want me to bring you a copy of the notes i'm making? You're retaking the Research Methods aren't you? I'm doing a hench set of notes on that topic - sort of like a booklet, and if you would like a copy, i'd be happy to oblige. Just lemme know

To help things along as i'm about to go out - i'm at the center most of today and zoe's coming over for a while at some time tomorow so those days are iffy, probably free weds, wouldnt mind doing swomething for a while xmas eve but xmas is a big no lol, revision shall never tough that day!

I'm retaking the studies paper actually but i'll have a look through anyway if they're short, could still help in either my current year's exam or maybe one of the essay questions at the end of the paper, plus its just generally interesting seeing how people do and interpret the same stuff differently . And errr we've made no plans so far (can lara come too? she aced that damn test the cheeky thing ) so when are you free?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
incandescent-smile In reply to AdamBeedell [2009-12-21 20:45:56 +0000 UTC]
Okay, i'll bring my notes along with me when we have it. I'm probably free most days after the big two-five, except the 27th, and new years eve/day. Lara should definately come! She's brilliant at psychology - we should all just sit around her and try to absorb her psychology-acing aura.
You said you were at the centre today? Damn, are you mad?! Probably no worse than Londinium today, i suppose - the underground was packed, naturally. It wouldn't have been so bad, but i was squished up right next to a really big German guy for about five stops O_o I love going on the underground usually though - i like people watching You get a great variety of weirdos on the London underground.
I went with my family to the christmas display at Hyde Park - it snowed like crazy, we all got really cold and wet, but it was fun - many a lol to be had and innuendoes galore with Zuckernuss und Wurst. They also had mulled cider, which was very nice

I'll talk to the other two then as soon as i can and tell you when everybody's free days match up
I was at the center today AND yesterday, it was beyond hectic, but the snow made for some really pretty sights . Hehe, people watching, i know what you mean, crowds are great fun sometimes. Annoying though because one of the main things i wanted to do was trade in MW2, and i still havnt been able to, and they've reduced the trade in value to £20 now . There goes my xmas spending money..
Zuckermuss and wurst? And glad to hear you had a nice christmassy day

incandescent-smile In reply to AdamBeedell [2009-12-21 22:57:52 +0000 UTC]
Zuckernuss - sugar nuts (candied nuts), and Wurst - sausage. It was a German-themed christmas market/display thing. The people on the stalls were actually German, and my dad had to go and show off by ordering everything in German - they didn't laugh at him though, so he must have done alrigt!! Mein vater uber ales, das Deutsch-meister! It was fun.
They still won't let you trade in MW2? Urgh, that's so annoying - they have all these ads on tv saying about deals on trade ins, and when you get there they have a dozen pendantic little rules! Maybe you should wait until after christmas - they probably get loads of trade ins after christmas. You're not going to the centre again tomorrow are you? Please say you're not! - you might get stabbed in the crush for the last box of mince pies in M&S or something.

HAHA!! Indeed, i have!! My brother gave me a COD masterclass this evening - i now know how to make a ton of really cheap kills
Really - 11 games? My brother and his mates have all been calling it 6 or MF2 - so i kind of assumed that was it's nickname. I guess i just showed myself up for the n00b that i am...lol. It's fun though - haven't played the campaign mode yet (brother has already finished it, annoyingly), but the online is fun. Only i keep getting killed!!! I walk out and all of a sudden BAM!! - it's like they all know how shite i am and i can't fight back! And for some reason it's always French people that end up killing me. What have they got against me??

Howdy! How are you? I was just thinking how inconsiderate i've been - i haven't even asked you about how your UCAS/university situation is coming along. Kathykins is always happy to discuss uni stuff with me in my form and stuff, which is really nice because i'm kind of starting to panic XD And if i'm panicking, lord know how you guys must be feeling about now...
It's just so much pressure! Every single website i go on says "AAA or AAB" - how is that even going to be possible? Aww, crap!! Oh well, i have another year until i'm in your shoes yet; so, tell me, how are things going for you? I'm curious. It's a shame i don't get to talk to you guys much anymore because our timetables don't match up (my classes suck now, because, apart from being with Lara in history, i'm all by me lonesome with those bratty 12s...lol)

AdamBeedell In reply to incandescent-smile [2009-11-08 21:58:44 +0000 UTC]
Oh god don't worry about it, not inconsiderate at all, thanks for asking though
Its annoying at the mo with uni and UCAS, you know how previously i was pretty much stumped and lost for motivation? Well now, as one of the deadlines passes me by, the motivation has just started to kick in, ooh how i want to get away from this place now, meet some shiny new people on courses and old people in lectures with shiny new ideas to fill my little head with. I just wish I'd have felt like this over the holidays so I could have spent more time looking into things and making a good statement, now i fear i'm slightly too late and stuck no-where for another year . Damn the last summer holiday for being the most counter-productive thing EVER XD.
I know what you mean; Christ those targets are painfully high, i desperately need to drag my psychology up and find the one university that still counts A&D otherwise I'm stuck for another two years... eww i'd hate to still be in school that long, i'd be in a lower year than my sister :s. Especially as the media tells me once i eventually get a uni degree it wont be worth anything anyway ¬_¬.
Meh, enough negativity - Apart from on the education front things are going pretty well at the mo, i watched a bunch more TED talks a few days ago alongside a science journal, some lectures by stanford uni and a psychology book on the differences between men and women (which was a laugh, interesting and a little annoying at the same time XD) so im feeling very clever even if nothing's really changed XD. Yourself?
Sorry to hear you're all by your lonesome , aren't there any fun year 12's out there? Anyway if you want to chat sometime gimme a text or a message on here and i'll drop by, havn't really got to speak to you for a decent amount of time in aaages
Long message is looooooong...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
incandescent-smile In reply to AdamBeedell [2009-11-08 22:31:11 +0000 UTC]
Ah, but long messages are great!!
Well, like i said, i'm just kind of looking at websites, sending of for prospectuses (or would that be prospecti?) and such. I suppose i'll take a look around some in the summer. Bristol looks nice (i think Kath was looking there), as does Warwick, and the University College London. Cambridge remains an air castle, but i'll have a stab, if my grades are good enough.
Don't give up on the uni side off things - i bet there's loads that'll take A+D. What are you going to be taking? An art related, or psychology, or something else? And, yeah, though the media are coming out with all this rubbish about degrees...a degree is still a degree - i mean, there's plenty of bragging rights, and it will eventually help you in "the job market", as it were, if only because YOU have one, and John Doe or Joe Bloggs or whatever does not.
Haha, yeah - there probably are some fun year 12s, but none have quite mustered their courage/swallowed their pride enough to talk to me!! But it is quite funny, because Maddie and Tamara are in my class as well - i mean, they're alright, i suppose, just not very talkative. I sit next to them, but don't really talk to them. And then there's about 3 empty places between us and the 12's - a mega segregation thing going on! It's a shame, because some of them seem genuinely intelligent, and i'm sure they'd make lively conversation, if nothing else. And thanks for offer - i'll remember that (and bug you by ringing you at 2 in the morning and such )
I would come into the art room more, but i don't know when your classes are, and - well...Mr. Davis hates me. He totally snubbed me in the corridor on Friday!! He was just like "Hmph!!", nose in the air, and strode off. I should have turned round and said, "well there are a lot of people in Versailles today, clearly!!"

Sorry for the late reply
If you need prospecti/usesesususesss just gimme the name of the place and i'll probably be able to ship one over as i brought back just about one for every university in england during that trip way back when . I really need to start going to open days too come to think of it, where do you start with that? Just checking the sites of every place you like or is there some sort of database out there somewhere of when these things happen? Its the choice that stumps me, I wouldn't want to get my sites to fixed on somewhere before i've visited unless somewhere else has under-sold itself or just never got to my attention, and with a few uni's in and between each city there's bound to be one . But i suppose i've got more important things to decide on when it comes uni, this isnt really the big issue as of yet.
I wont give up just yet, and I dont really see either art or psychology as a particularly good choice, which is a shame. I think I might go into something vaguely in the sciences though as i still have quite an interest in it and its a bit better as a foundation. But really im still undecided, it could go any way right now, i feel like i need a bit of soul-searching (though i hate that phrase XD) to clear my head and decide what i really want.
Poor you guys! Just go say hi to some of the nicer sounding ones, or at least shove Tamara in their general direction, 6th form has really reversed my social cynicism in that a surprisingly large proportion of people can be surprisingly great given a decent chance to get talking. ... But i suppose on the other hand i think us year 13's would rather keep you to ourselves

incandescent-smile In reply to AdamBeedell [2009-11-11 17:21:20 +0000 UTC]
Aww, shucks!! Yeah, well i couldn't really see where i could fit in with the 12s anyway - they all seem...pretty normal. And i wouldn't really call our "set" the "normal kids", if you catch my drift (yeah, i mean we are a bunch of geeks, and they all seem...yeah, normal XD)
Perhaps you should do philosophy? At uni, i mean. You seem pretty involved at P4C - not that we do anything really in depth there - but if you find it interesting in general, why not? And it's the ultimate "i don't know what i want to study" degree, in a way. And then you could become an RE teacher

Its a possibility, hadn't thought of that really, certainly sounds interesting though i think i'd definitely need an open day or two each to see if i'd get intelectually beaten into the floor or not XD.

Because your the like all knowing god of photoshop, could I ask you to shed some advice on my noobiness
Brush settings is where Im confused. I can't get it back to the setting where its like a paintbrush with the pressure setting to make the mark bigger and smaller. All I have is once constantly the same width line.. which is impossible to digipaint with. xD I know theres something really easy to do to change it however I have fiddled with all the settings loads and I just cant crack it xD.

Yay! Someone's consulted me again, i thought i'd seen the last of it XD.
Well its easy peasy; as long as your tablet is all installed and working you just click on the brush engine, which is by default the tab on the top center-right of photoshop that says brush on it, then go into 'shape dynamics' and change the control under size jitter to 'en pressure'. By the way you'll need to have clicked the brush tool to use it because the brush engine keeps settings for each individual brush. Not sure how to change the default to toggle pen pressure on but oh well. Hope that helps
Oh and hello

Ive just tried what you said, but it doesnt do anything :S It makes the line all bobbly for lack of a better description. It doesn't think Im using a tablet I think, however I am and it works fine, how do I make it recognise the tablet?
