well, most of your beliefs it appears (my opinion, I know dick thing to say). Yet, I think I'm able to take some offense to your avatar of a confederate flag. Fuckin ignorance and shallow, shitty thinking. True American pride! huh? fuckin disgusts me.

If you really think that flag is offensive you should prolly crack open a history book for the first time in your life and learn something about it before you get all offended... and when you do get back with me an let me know about your experience of learning...you might appreciate the history lesson

ha, really? so, you're saying the confederate flag comes with absolutely zero reference to discrimination towards other races... with the strong history of the south's slave labor, I'm sure anyone in the country (other than extremely ignorant who would deny it, maybe you yourself are one of those people) would make a connection of the two. Just throwing out the racism... What would the confederate flag stand for? A fuck-load of white, greedy, rich Europeans who cared for only money.
If I am still a retard to this piece of history... tell me what it stands for.

Well i guess the American flag is offensive too, seeing as if it flew over every slave ship porting US borders over 100 years before the Confederate flag even flew, and continued porting slave ships after abolishing slavery. And the Confederate flag represents States Rights, the whole reason for the civil war, not slavery. So do you think the US flag isn't racist either? Wheres the connection with it? Its in the history book.

I agree that the U.S. flag did stand for slavery, continued to be racist for quite a while after the civil war.... but the difference between the two is that the American flag is still flying.... The confederate flag died along with slavery, forever holding the connection. The American flag is still here and has moved on (for the most part, there are still a racist shit-heads everywhere). Think about how people are going to perceive that shit, because I bet 99% of people would connect the confederate flag to slavery rather than states rights.... Get some fucking common sense. If you don't want to come off racist, don't have confederate flags everywhere.

Well if you ever get down here to Texas, you'll see the Confederate flag has never stopped flying. And the only reason anybody connects the Confederate flag with racism is if they are just as uneducated on the subject as you are. In that case I guess a lot of people need a history lesson and need to quit the accusations on 'the connection'. I know theres plenty of dumb people out there, i'm just glad i'm not one of them. btw i'm not racist.

Wait, what the fuck am i saying? must be tired... Yes, I do believe that with the confederate flag comes some references to slavery and racism, you can't totally disregard that fact because it was such a fucking giant part of the south in the 1800s. If you are saying that it is uneducated to say that the confederate flag comes with the reference of slavery and racism then you are fucking insane and need to get some history lessons from a less biased teacher... Fuck, slavery is what drove the confederate to even care about their state rights. Fuck you for calling me uneducated for relating the confederate flag to slavery, and fuck you for believing that's how it should be. Under no circumstance is slavery totally thrown out of the history of the south or America as a whole, it was one of the biggest factors.

There was a large argument of states rights in the time, but again, it somewhat revolved around the slavery issue.
And, I'm sure our backgrounds affect our views on it, me being from the bay area and you from Texas, there's a big difference in cultures. And, the fact that I'm Mexican puts me on edge with the subject a bit.
Just a reminder, most people (or so I believe) will connect it with racism.

That connection is the problem with people. All it is, is a misunderstanding from an uneducated point of view. And someones race doesn't really effect the connection, I know too many blacks and Mexicans that fly the Confederate flag with pride, and a couple other races as well. But yes, backgrounds do effect those views.

I wouldn't say uneducated.... much more of a culture view. I know many very educated people that would connect the confederate flag with at least a bit of racism.

Just like people can relate an African flag with Aids?

my bad, bad comparison. Just would love to see you try to parade that flag around in the bay area, New York, or Portland. Anywhere where Caucasian isn't a majority amount, the confederate flag isn't going accepted. you can call it uneducated, I'll call it cultural.
