Roxanne Kirkland is the human personification of the Shetland Islands,which is a subarctic archipelago of Scotland that lies north-east of mainland Britain.
Roxanne was once a bright and optomistic young girl, Never ver irratible and always very open and honest. However that changed in and around the year 800.
Her country had seen a huge wave of immigration from northern europe, and the norwegian monarchy had made Shetland a norwegian province. Now, at first, Roxanne didn't mind, however, this changed as she grew up. She was forced to spend most of her time with the personification of Norway and despite her numerous attempts to befriend him, They never got on very well, she had felt as though he treated her as though he was superior to her in every way, which grew to be very annoying very quickly. Also, the viking colonies' attacks were damaging for her not only physically, but emotionally, she even has a few scars left to prove the brutality.
She had begged him over and over again to stop the violence, but he never gave her an answer and one day the attacks just became too much. In fact one day her injuries became so bad that she just passed out.
She was then awakened on a ship by a young English gentleman, who claimed that he found her lying on the coast and took her in. Of course she was grateful, but she could barely speak to him... over the 600 year she had been under Norway's rule, her confidence,especially around strangers like her saviour, had slipped away, she was an insecure and shy wreck. However, after a few months of gentle coaxing, she grew to like him, in fact she saw him as a brother figure to her eventually.
Not too long after that, Shetland was then annexed to Scotland after King James III bargained with Norway that if he married Princess margaret of Norway, Shetland would become a part of Scotland.(Much to Denmark's protest i might add) and Things were looking up. Although Roxanne would never be the same person she was as a child, and an extremely fragile economy was definitely not a confidence boost.
However, things have seemed to get better, Although Roxanne is still extremely shy,self-consious and insecure, She opens up to people when she gets to know them well, revealing how Sweet,caring and affectionate she is, and always has been.

(( Hi everyone! It's been a while!
I have an important update here, So if any of my partners bother to check profiles then please read this!
First of all, I'm sorry for the last journal.. (Mainly to APH-NorthernIreland and @HiwakaFamilyRP) I was in a really bad way mentally when my muse dropped.. i was really overly anxious and on edge at the time because i was getting over a MAJOR exam mess uo and Rose leaving kind of made me feel worse in a way? I do feel a bit better these days though , Also I was super duper busy at a con in sunderland last weekend and the hotel Wi-Fi was a piece of crap and my movile data was at it's limit so i couldn't reply. After that my mum went off to portugal on holiday so me and my sister have been doing a whole manner of things.
Second of all i'd like to apologise again, Because i won't be on my RP accounts for a while longer. I've just been so busy with other things recently that my muse for both my babies has dropped completely and it won't get any less busy since me and my sister are off to florida next week and we have to do any last minute preparations, Also my mum's coming back on Tuesday so she'll want to spend some time with us before we leave on the friday.
I may have some Munday things up in that time, But in all honesty i wouldn't get any hopes up, I'll be super busy like i said AND when i get to Florida i won't always have WiFi
