If you don't mind me asking- why did you choose this particular style to show your forest? It looks lovely, makes me feel calmer.

Actually, it was on of the first test for a 7 pages comic I'm doing for my academy: it takes place in a forest that is the main character's childhood symbol...Seen a bit as an utopian place where to be in peace and acepted, a place where she belongs. I just tried to figure how to make it visually, and these colors works really well for an everlasting, calm and a bit solemn atmosphere.
Unlikely, in this particular kind of style and with ecoline ink I would have found difficult to integrate the character...So I put that aside to work with colored pencil instead. But I felt like something is still in it..I'll surely work more on this technique lately so, it has a great potential.

I get it! (although I did have to look up Utopian). I see what you mean- it would have been great to show a calm, serene place. It kind of looks dream-like which is what I imagine when I think of a Utopian place because I can't seem to think of it as real. Although I do understand why you didn't choose it for your comic (practicality and all that). I hope your final piece did well!! (or do well-depending on if you've finished)

Sorry for replying late >_< I had to finish my latest academy work (that of the forest actually) so I literally had no time to spare!

Sorry for the strange word, I actlually like it a lot as a concept :p (Lick)

In the end, for the realisation I had to focus on the "magical/childhood" atmosphere, so I had to go on with more bright colours to contrast from a more realistic forest vision...So, a blue/green palette (for the real one) against a more reddish/yellowish/violet one (the "memory scene"). It changes a lot, but I'm still happy to have done it ;) (Wink) I'll post that soon so you (and others maybe P) can see the difference ^__^
