they can be tricky and can easily look poorly used. I use an old Ai and I've noticed on newer versions that gradients have some new features. I'll play with em a little and see if I can't help if you want. Let me know what's giving you trouble. Basically speaking you just click and drag to "stretch" the gradient and set its angle at first. Use the little color sliders on the gradient palette to put a little more/less distance between the colors and the other slider that appears between colors to make one "closer" to the other. My advice would also be, don't try putting too many colors in a gradient. I almost never use more than 3 and rarely more than 2. If you need another set of gradients, make another shape to put them in.

I realy appreciate your help!
I think it will come with an experience.
So.. i dont want you to think about me bad..Or maybe you will now
Here's the thing i'm workin' on right now..
It's far from finished artwork and still far from good.
I experiment with lot of things and im trying to understand how things ar working. There's a mess in my layers and paths and many lines are not done or they're wrong. (blush)

everybody starts this way. People who draw an amazing first car are people who already have a good understanding and even experience with Ai. I learned it in school and drew a bunch of stuff before I drew a car so that gave me a step up ... not that my first was amazing because I don't think so. But anyway, I don't see a ton of gradients in your drawing yet but I don't see anything wrong with what you've got going on. Clean shapes and accurate details will go a long ways to make a drawing look good, even with fairly simple coloring.
