Printed out another one of my colouring pages to colour.This line drawing was the one that took me the longest to complete and I absolutely hated straight lines by the end!
I started with the bottom magpie then drew the top one. After that I found myself a bit stuck for inspiration on what to draw in the background and for some reason though that a Japanese style temple would be a good idea. I think the end result of the linework is beautiful but sheesh was I hating my decision about halfway in. I couldn't even count the amount of times I felt like just deleting the background layer and having a blank background!
As far as the colouring goes I used some cheap Asda colouring pencils for the background and then some alcohol markers for the birds. I'm happy with how the birds turned out but not so much with the background.
I always struggle way more with backgrounds. They are just not my strength. Anyone else struggle with them too?
And if you find backgrounds easy do you have any tips for someone who struggles?
