So looking back, I have been drawing Zonkey since 2006. I have been looking at her design... I think I need to change it. As much as I like drawing her as she is now, it is often inconsistent, and a little too "serious" or static. I have a dilemma with her change, do I keep her brown or change her to her classic grey. I changed her to brown in 2008, so 9 of her 11 years, she has been brown. Maybe I should just make her multicolored. Any thoughts from the crowd?Related content

Ah, I know this dilemma with my pony avatar! Grey looks so cool, but brown is warmer and more cuddly...
In your case, though, I think the brown helps make Zonkey stand out (I did a double-take on this pic when I realised "wait, I recognise that cartoon equine!"). Maybe, if you want a bit of a change or more colour, you should maybe consider adding an accessory, like a scarf, rather than a pallet-swap? Or have the character start dying their mane so that there's a reason to use different colours if you're in the mood?
