the lever action rifle was intended for use with farmers as a varmint rifle but was quickly favoured by the north american big game hunters,

the rifle was chambered in many cartriges but was most popular in .357mag, .44mag, and .45-70,
the rifle features a 7 shot tube mag for .357 and .44mag, and a 4 shot for .45-70

these rifles are chambered in .357mag (top), and .45-70 (bottom)

the bottom is a modern varient of the classic design, featuring a synthetic stock and fore end, 16" barrel, m1913 picitinny rail
