Phew, this took a while to do!
I don't know if you remember a while back I posed the start of a story involving a pair of theives, one being Lord Levard Deveris, and the other, his faithful manservant Draix. Well I thought they all deserved a picture, and being in a steampunky kind of mood, this came out. Levard is a bit of a technical whizz and loves coming up with inventions down in the basement of the estate. The only two people who know he's really The Shadow - a highwayman/robber/and all around Robin Hood style good guy who gives to the poor- are, obviously his partner in crime, Draix (who Levard caught burgling his own home and then took him on to teach him how to become a rogue himself) and Lady Olivia Deveris, who is always covering for their whereabouts, and telling them how stupid and reckless they are. Unfortunately Olivia is engaged to a man Levard absolutely loaths, and doesn't know that Draix actually has a bit of a crush on her - an interesting story should I ever finish writing it. Anyway, yes, Levard loves his experiments, and is much beter with machinery than he is with chemicals and has a habit of blowing things up - hence the hole in the floor
This took me a while to colour, as I tried to make it look quite dark, while keeping those Victorian/Steampunk colours, which are sometimes quite bold. I also did a background...I need to do more of those. I know Draix looks a little bigger than he should do, but oh well...I will remember next time to work on my perspective...but look! I drew hands! And metal ones at that heh! think I should do more mechnical stuff as it was so much fun to colour.
