This is a drawing using the pretty and unique looking Debbie. I used her as model for my Dark Fairy at the beginning of the year as well. I really like her bright green eyes and her cute freckles, it adds something special. I feel the drawing has a bit of a melancholic feel. Perhaps the feel of summer slowly slipping away, a small breeze playing with her hair.I was trying out some different paper, which is grainier. The colours acts a little different and some areas are harder to create. I also wanted to try and new hair nuance which I haven't used that often. Though technically this isn't my best piece I feel rather happy with it. I wanted to keep the colours neutral and not too contrasted in the shading.
I really like this dimension, I wanted to try something new size wise. I always had a thing for long thin paintings but rarely do it with my drawings.
Made with soft pastels.

Your use of color and shadowing are supurb.
The model is lovely...and you captured her youthful beauty perfectly. Her expression does look mlike that worn by many as they contemplate the end of summer.

I use pastels in pencil form as well as un-pencil ones, helps me to get the more sharper lines.

i'm just impressed overall by this piece.
her eyes are amazing! the reflection, the depth in the irises(?), the feathering of the lashes which add a nice contrast not only to her eyes but to the whole piece.
they are the darkest element in the whole image, so i'm immedeatly drawn to her eyes and everything seems to flow from there. and i use the word "flow" purposely, because thats what this work has to it. a natural flow, more pronounced by the little lock of hair that curls just below the cloud line adds to the overflow.
and her hair draping over her shoulder?!
i could go on forever!
