Rather strange, but an interesting shot.

This is my favourite among the 3 that you've shown here.
Mostly due to the sense of scale... the trees, the mountains, the sky, and the un-silent-silence enveloping all.
All I hear is air.

It's not even cold, just pretty silent. Kind of like death.

hehe yeah, I used a custom Opal 8x10 studio camera, not processed on-site though, too damn cold!

Damn! I've always thought it takes such dedication to process to evn carry an 8x10 of any kind....but to then also doing some wonderful old process. OMG. I'm impressed... no matter where you developed it.

It is not so heavy in comparison to some large format or even some medium format systems. The weight comes from the plates, which aren't that heavy depending on what you use.
Appreciate it!

I have an old 4x5 that isn't too heavy but it is cumbersome and awkward to deal with sometimes.

Amazing new pics you've put up, Keith. They're all fantastic but I really adore this. It's a very impressive landscape. We don't have anything like that here. I'm loving the look of it. The picture oozes of silence...winter silence..

Really like all three. Now iam really curious as to how these plates look in person. The atmosphear in all of them just seems so unreal, guess its just suprising these days when you see so much open untouched land. Keep em coming thats what i say. Can't wait for those tutrials.

Thanks, the process for the three here are pretty much standard on processing dry gel plates. Not sure how much deviation you could get from the process anyhow, since it's like any of the old traditional processes. The only real difference in how I processed these is when I added toner to them when they were soaking. Unlike films and papers, plates usually soak in solutions when being processed, I have an old bath bowl from the 20's where I do most of my processing.
