Day 18, Paras, Parasect.The one thing that always creeps me out about Parasect is the dex description talking about the mushroom taking over the host body. That together with the glazed over eyes always fascinated me.
I didn't get to do anything to show that though, and instead made this sort of seeing eye dog situation where the paras was leading the parasect along. It doesn't really look like that though, more like the parasect is taking the paras out for a walk. *bangs head against wall*

The thing that disturbs me in this picture is the thing you mentioned, where the Parasect's body being taken over by the fungus on its back, basically killing the Paras to turn into Parasect, which is why the eyes are blank. The really disturbing part is that the child Paras does not know that its parent is dead because of the mushroom on its back and does not realize that that it will have the same fate some day. All that said, Paras is still so freakin' adorable.

the creepiest of all, fungi that turn bugs into zombies exist in real life, and they are terrifying. but the way you put it, that poor paras! so creeped out right now!

It doesn't turn them into zombies, it kind of just grows out of the hosts head. The real fungus of course

from what i've heard, it controls their brains and makes them climb to high areas, so when it sprouts it can spread better

To me, it looks like the parasect is the mom/dad and the paras is the kid who cn't be trusted in public, so he needs a kid leash. But that's just me. XD

Haha, parasect always seemed mystical to me, and earned my respect because of the way it seemed to look so awesome and spirit-like with its eyes being all solid white. Plus I love having him follow me around in Soul Silver xD
