So was Dashcon really as big a mess as people are saying it was?

not at all. there were some issues, but what are you going to do it was a first con. of the issues, the admins were really good about dealing with them as best they could, and they explained it all saturday and friday mornings. the posts on tumblr are mostly from people who didnt attend the con, or those who did, got upset at the problems, and didnt bother to find an explanation.
the con was great, the people were great, and everyone was well behaved and had a great time.

Ah thats good. Other than the whole ball pit fiasco, I don't think the con was that bad for its first year. I know some people who attended and they seemed to have also had a good time. They even said that they enjoyed most of the panels. The only thing for them was that a lot of people left by Sunday and the whole place got pretty empty.

Sunday was the last day, so i kinda expect people to leave by then.
The pit ball was hilariously pathetic and should be mocked, i dont disagree, but i didnt see it for myself since i was at the table. i think it was meant as a joke, to be honest, considering they put it in the largest most empty room in the whole hotel.
for those who stayed, we definatly had a great time, and my friend was a panelist for three of the panels, and they were superb. : )
