Description Omg, we finished our last uni assignment a day early, so happy! *celebrateswithdrawingwooo*

Finished the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between World a while back and it's such a good game with cool concept! I remembered it after someone talking about it and decided to do fanart of Hilda, the Princess of Lorule.
This was painted entirely in grayscale and focus on this was a photostudy of her face and also a value study. Then I added a gradient map *so useful!*

Theme 4 "Dark" finished for the 100ThemesChallenge ! Variation 1: (100themeschallenge.deviantart.… ).

You are improving so fast that I can't even. o,o Also, I could tell this was Zelda fanart right away, even with the mood and style differences, so kudos to you!

Also, you've probably just changed my life with this gradient map biz - I'd seen it before in Ps, but it wasn't until you mentioned it that I thought to check out a tutorial. It looks so awesome and convenient, and great for a workflow that starts out with a grayscale underpainting like mine does Just curious - would you use this method again or as a primary method?

Awwww, you're just too nice I don't know what to say TwT Thank you hon! <333

Gradient maps are amazing and I always use them whenever I paint from grayscale. Usually I have it as a base to get rid of anything that doesn't have saturation, and then I add more colors using soft light and overlay layers, then lastly I continue to paint and fix things on top of it.
These are the two tutorials that introduced me to gradient maps, and they're pretty useful :3

No problem, friend!

OMG THANK YOU~ these are really great tutorials! I super appreciate it! See, until now I've just laid gradients over the grayscale layers manually and then layered the soft light/overlay/etc. layers over it. I'll have to let you know how my exploration of these gradient maps goes - already super excited about it

Omg I'm so late replying I feel horrible T^T
How've you been lately? Glad to hear you found those tutorials useful (hopefully!), I honestly never do it any other way anymore. I did try some while back to  paint directly with colors, but I failed badly haha! x'D

Take care! :'D
