So this is Mitch. If you've never heard of him go download some of this guy's stuff even if you only like stand up comedy a bit. Worth it.
This was done partly as a sort of dedication- things have been getting really intense around here lately and when I rediscovered his comedy a few months ago it really helped cheer me up. The anniversary of his death is coming up on Thursday, so I wanted to finish it by then.
Before it became that it was a sort of project to prove to myself I could digitally paint more than animals realistically. A lot of time with the 1px brush, fixing of the hands, fingers, face-which is still too wide or not long enough but close enough for me- and the clothing folds.
I think it was a success.

Aaaw. What a breath of fresh air Mitch was. His stage fright was always just...drop-dead adorable, and you really captured it spot on in this piece.

Perhaps, since originally it was a sort of "push myself to the limit" thing. Honestly, I think it was just tedious details. Doing this on PS instead of an oekaki meant I could do a side-by-side comparison up close, and not have random pixels change colors after 10 saves.

Wow. That's crazy... he has the exact same expression on his face as in the original. That just amazes me... Tiana has been drawing people for forever and she's always going on about how she ends up changing their expressions, at least a little, as hard as she tries not to. You nailed it.
...and you nailed everything else, too, obviously, but that just struck me the most. This is your first realistic person...?! I repeat... wow.
