Description
Elizabeth 'Betsy' Braddock was born into the wealthy Braddock family and enjoyed a privileged childhood. When her twin brother Brian took up the mantle of Captain Britain, Betsy found herself longing to fight evil with her own naturally developing mutant psychic abilities. She was soon recruited into the ranks of the X-Men.

Her first tenure with the group proved to be short-lived, as during a desperate effort to save the rest of the team during a battle with the Marauders resulted in her being teleported to Japan. Badly injured and amnesiac, she was captured by the Hand. Betsy was chosen to be the new body for a comatose ninja named Kwannon, but the procedure instead resulted in the two being merged, with fragments of both of their minds and personalities being split between the two bodies. Eventually the two copies would come into conflict of their identity, though this was resolved when Kwannon died and Betsy recovered her full memory and was purged of Kwannon's influence.

Continuing to serve as an X-Man, Psylocke eventually began a relationship with Warren Worthington. When the two ended up fighting alongside each other as members of X-Force their relationship grew deeper. Unfortunately their happiness was cut short when Warren's Archangel persona regained control of him, forcing Betsy to put an end to his evil.
