This is something I drew up in about two minutes. Yes, I realize my pics have made an odd degradation of quality, but fuggit. This is my stand against furry-bashers who've got it all wrong. No, I'm not assertive, just a bit ticked that people make these sort of judgements that all "furries" are beastial.And yes, we -do- have MTV to thank for the large amount of resilience toward the furry fandom.

Fellow Terrans, I come to you in the wake of recent events to issue a call to reason. Let no human deny the perils of our time. The time has come my fellow Terrans, to rally to a new banner. In unity lies strength; already many of the dissident factions have joined us. Out of the many, we shall forge an indivisible whole, capitulating only to a single throne! And from that throne, I shall watch over you.
From this day forward, let no human make war upon any other human. Let no Terran agency conspire against this new beginning. And let no man consort with alien powers. And to all the enemies of humanity, seek not to bar our way, for we shall win through, no matter the cost!

Well, not all furries dress in fursuits. Heck, not all furries identify with an animal. The base term "furry" really just applies to those who are a fan of furry-related art. Now, sure, some of the more extreme fans are a little... Scary. That much is true. But furry art is what it is: art that has furry characters in it.

Oh, you know. It's all opinions. Especially on the internet, some people LOVE to express them. There's naught anyone can do for or against various art forms and subjects, so all you can do is realize being on a public forum such as the internet means you'll have to deal with other people bashing the things you like. Just roll with the punches, ignore it, and realize that, at the end of the day, it's just words.

I don't hate furries, but I'm seriously annoyed by people who claim to have a "special connection" with wolves or tigers or whatever the fuck they like. I want to start a reality show where we put people like that into a cage full of their beloved animals and watch as they get attacked

XD; I don't blame you for thinking that way. I personally don't mind it. People believe a wide range of things. A variety of religions involve having some kind of spiritual connection with animals. It's something they devoutly follow, and who am I to argue against that?
That said, I do have something against trying to pass it off as more than just a spiritual or religious thing. Trying to convince someone that you're actually a wolf or dragon is just asking for someone to berate you. The follow-up is usually those fanatics citing "persecution" against their way of life, but... Sometimes it just comes out as a cry for attention.
People are weird. They can believe whatever they want, but if they expect to get through life without ANYONE trying to poke holes in their beliefs, and thinking it's persecution to do so, is just undefendable. That's just how I see things.

Uh....okay...well, really, the most vigorous furry bashers probably don't watch MTV. At all. Ever.
In fact, most people who watch MTV probably either don't know what a furry is or don't give a damn about it.

The image was made... I'unno. Quite a while back. I can't even remember what year in high school I was in when I drew it.
MTV didn't cause it, but it certainly aided in a lot of the furry-bashing back when the show it was featured on was relevant. Since then, the biggest contributors are the various *chan websites. Still spews a lot of the same stuff, and shows the worst elements in the fandom to prove a point, same with what MTV did five or so years ago.
Again... It's a relevance issue. My comment no longer applies after all this time, as the source of the bashing has since shifted to a different audience.

Seriously, the image was made... at least over five years ago. I saw a sudden uprise in the whole "FURFAGS YIFF IN HELL" stuff shortly after that episode hit the air. It wasn't exactly hard to make a connection.
Once again, though... More than five years ago. I really don't care about the debate anymore, because it's already gotten way out of hand.

One of my oldest on the site, too! This style has always been a load of fun, and acts as a great conduit for any frustration I feel the need to take out.
I've been mulling over a comic, actually, still deciding whether or not to do it, but this style has always been coming up. I may just do that... Let's see if I follow through with it.

I love C&H... And have always wanted to go into webcomicking. Just not sure how to go about it.
I considered this style as a main theme for the comic; one- to three-panel shots based around stuff like this, my own annoyance with things I find, or random musings or whatnot. If for no other reason than my own humor and entertainment.
Actually, while I'm at it... Would something like that interest you, as in... would you read it? Given it would have a certain level of polish, of course.

Hmm. I don't know, maybe you could try to find an online mag or a newspaper that's actively looking for a new comic strip to compliment their other content?
^^ I really do like the style. If someplace was willing to pick your stuff up, they might even let you do a political comic. That's always a fun way to let off steam with your opinions.
