Same question I made to myself From my personal opinion I believe that the complete harness is what keeps she materialized in the world, due to the complexity that entails having a kind of built-in time machine, although I also like to believe in the popular headcanon that she has a simplified version, less effective for fighting but practical enough to do more daily activities without becoming a ghost

Actually, according to the Christmas comic, she is able to take it off as long as she stays close by to it. There's a panel where she's laying down on a couch while the accelerator sits in a corner.
