Joi doesn't has just a serious and emotionless face but also a nasty personallity or a kind of noticible hate towards the human beings, not only on them actually. Joi is capable to see his own sins, of the humans, angels and demons. Actually when Joi tried to come back to the underworld he was exiled and called as "Not a demon, not a human, not an angel but a thing we don't like" He has 4 horns which are hidden below; covered by his hair.

He suffers something similar that telepathic people suffers, reading the mind of others but in Joi situation he's capable to check clearly the sins of a person: With who had sex? they did killed their partner? Did stole? They did sold someone? They did slave or abused of others and still having pleasure of it? Teenagers did rape a girl/boy or get fun by killing puppies? Have you killed someone? He can see it over your head.

Thanks to this he was able to save Fay many times targering her abducters and kiddnapters but at the same time, he suffers nightmares, paranoia and he sometimes starts to think that the only way to feel more relieved is killing the sinners, depending of they have done. The ones he can't forgive are the ones who rape and kill children or innocent women/men but there is a point when he just doesn't give a fuck and kills even a creep whom all he did is following just one girl from a distance or a woman who sacrificed her child because she didn't have another option. Killing/Abusing an innocent person for just pleasure is a thing he can't tolerate or even... let the performer continue living

Killing or Taking care of the fallen angel (Fay) are the only things that can cool his mind and keep quiet his thoughts
