Tried out a handmade watercolour paper for this sketch of my OC Karasu! The surface is rather soft though; it felt like I overworked it during the sketching, long before putting any paint onto it. Wanted to experiment with some textures on the skin but couldn't quite achieve the desired effect with this paper. Also had a different background planned but also couldn't quite get it to work with this paper. So I might redo this piece another time with different materials.

Something else new I tried was going over the sketch lines again with coloured pencil after the paint was dry. I kind of like how it looks so I might try it again.

Tools: Holcroft/Amatruda Amalfi smooth watercolour paper (300gsm), watercolour, Deleter Black 5 ink, coloured pencil. 20x30cm.
