Ngl, I was very close to making him a skeleton as well. But then I remembered my concept for Dragon!Cloudie, and remembered that in previous versions they were both technically Blueberry kids, which made them sort of siblings. So I was like "Let's just rehash Dragon!Cloudie!s concept- but make it wingless and more suited toward Shatter."
And thus dragon demon thing Shatter became a thing.
I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to make his head spike- things look like spikes and not- fire like Cosmos. I think I did decent.
Onto code and such! Unlike a lot of the others- I actually made a major change and decided to yeet Shatter's original ship he was based on. Instead, I swapped it out a bit.
- To give him the lizard/dragon feel, I decided to go with Underswap Alphys to give him an additional fighter spunk, and adds a mentor/older brother vibe to his and Cloudie's relationship and jazz.
- We all know G!sans. Flirty trashbag with a smoking addiction. We guess what, it's not him but it's Echofell. You fOols- I tricked yoU- jokes aside: purely picked Echofell because 1. Gives him height, 2. Echofell just vibes more.
- I'm thinking he may have some Blueberry in him, but unlike his previous version, I'm cutting out the yandere part- finally. But the blueberry code is pretty outweighed by the other code, so really it's kind of just an subset addition that gives more to general aesthetic and jazz.
Fun facts and tidbits:
✞ Out of all Star Kingdom, he's the tallest in natural height, standing at 6'1" like a god damn champ.
✞ He's like one of those friends who like playfully flirts with literally all their friends purely for chaotic purposes.
✞ Everyone gets nicknames, and you can't stop me. I have a whole list already-
✞ "Gay Panic? Never heard of it, you're just gonna be panicking over me."
✞ He has connections to like- everyone in the Star kingdom. The only one who he doesn't have connections with, is Moss, and that's for kind of obvious reasons.
He knows Slayer and Ophinna because- their family totally doesn't have affilation with Shatter's family mafia-. But he also knew them through school, and later when Slayer was cast out let her hang at his house and eventually offered her to join Reckless, and then later the same with Phin.
Shatter found Crest after his friend died, and helped the dude get back on his feet and did offer him a place in Reckless, but Crest wanted to just take time for himself at the time.
Then there's Cloudie, whose his sorta cousin. Technically related because his mom's brother- married to Cloudie's dad- and then they were related basically. He wasn't allowed a lot to see her since her side of the family was very strict against 'bad' codes, so most of the time he saw her before Star Kingdom assembled was limited. Still knew eachother though.
And then there's Cosmos, who basically came to him wanting to form an alliance, and Shatter, despite not fond of Cosmos, agreed for reasons I won't reveal.
So by all means, it makes more sense for Shatter to be leader, but nooo- Cosmos steals the damn spotlight. Maybe that's why Shatter's salty at him.
✞ There were so many songs I was listening to as I made him, and every single one just influenced him very slowly.
✞ My friend called him, "My raging lesbian/bi energy in one character." And I can't deny that.
