The River Bann, longest river in Northern Ireland and flows from the Mournes in Co. Down into Lough Neagh, the largest freshwater lake in Britain, the river emerges at the northern end to flow 60 km to the sea at Portstewart. It drains 40% of Northern Ireland. It's a great river for Atlantic salmon and eels.

This picture was taken on Christmas Eve in the big freeze. I liked this birch tree leaning towards the river...I took quite a few pictures of it so it could be hard to whittle them down to a few submissions.

There was a perfect combination of snow, frost and mist to make the scene so lovely.
