Description Random sketch:

I had fun with drawing armour layers and such. I was pretty careful with it so it took me little much longer than normal. And no reference was used

I know it is not really lineart, but if anyone want, it can be downloaded and coloured. I would like to see the result if possible

Darn, wish I had your patience. Just one "critique" comes to mind: Try not to leave pieces of the figure out of the picture!

killer armor design man!!
1 thing you might want to think of next time is where the upper plate overlaps the piece below there should be a darker shadow line showing the overlay with more of a highlight at the bottom of the plate.i think I said that right.I think it would help amplify the look you're going for.All in all a killer piece!!

Glad you love it

Ah, I did try to put in the shadow under each layers, and if you looks closer, you will see it. But it seems that I missed some, lol

I think you want to get a little darker lines at the top of each and a little more lite on the bottom it would give it that over lap look a little more clear the shading is a little too uniform from top to bottom

That is some seriously complex armor. Good work on handling all the details, but it gets a little busy. A stronger overall value structure would tighten it up some. I might play with this myself a little later.

Excellent

True, with all of details, it does became little distracting.

How would I come around with a stronger overall value? Do you mean in the difference between shadow and light?

Yup. Focus less on the individual pieces of armor, and figure out where the light and shadow fall on the figure as a whole, then go back in and fiddle out the details.
