Description EYES OF PERSUASION

By Yomero.

Part1
In a forest, a group of men traveled with caution. Their cloths match up with the attire worn by the King’s soldiers. They held swords and shields as they went deeper into the woods.

The group of twelve reached a clear in the forest. At the middle was a small fortification. It was the size of a large church and its walls were made of stone. At the center of the structure, it had a watch tower and the front door was made of thick solid wood.

“Who goes there?” A male voice shouted from inside the fortification.

“I’m Counselor Williamson and a committee of Maenland.” The red-haired beard man leading the group shouted. “We are here to see Sorcerer Jolott.”

The gates open and the travelers enter the fortification. They are welcome by a young man in robes with their weapons. After being taken into a modest room with a large table, an old man enters.

“It’s not usual to have guests so early, neither to receive a royal advisor without being notified in advance.” The old man states. “I heard about King Ernest the third, my condolences to your people.”

“I’m afraid that’s the reason we are here, Jolott.” Williamson tells the sorcerer. “We are afraid he was victim of a clever plot.”

“We can discuss the matter while having breakfast. My apprentice is already at the kitchen.” The wizard informs the group.

The guests are served food and drinks by the young man. Having traveled non stop for two days, the men devour their food while the sorcerer patiently waits for Williamson to pause from eating.

“Around two months ago, a young elf woman appeared at the gates of the castle, she presented to the guards as an entertainer, and they let her pass.” The counselor tells Jolott. “They let her pass without even informing their superiors.”

“That is unusual.” The wizard shortly interrupts.

“By the time the officers in charge arrived, the elf woman had already started performing for the guards. She played the pan flute for them. Soon all of the guards joined the show.” The counselor continues. “Then she sang for them, when she finished her elf song, around fifty people were around her enjoying her play, even members of the royal council were there.”

“It was the most beautiful music I ever heard. We were mesmerized by her music, and her voice.” One of the guards adds. “I felt happy and peaceful. It was like being under a spell.”

“The elf artist asked to play for the royal family. She introduced herself as Sauda from Deendu. One of the Lords listening promptly accepted and ordered the guards to present her before the King.” Williamson keeps informing the wizard. “That act could cost the Lord’s title if the King would order it, but there was no action taking against him as well. It was then I met the female elf by the first time.”

At this moment the man pauses. He takes a long sip of beer until his jar is empty. The wizard looks at his actions as the pause ends.

“The elf artist repeated her act and the King not only like it, he applauded extendedly. He welcomed her as the official royal entertainer, even after the queen disagreed. The King let her live in the palace and gave her a room used for royal guests.”  Williamson continues. “For a month or two it was a tense calm at the palace between the King, the Queen and Sauda. The King and the Queen fought almost daily about the elf guest about expelling her from the kingdom, but his Majesty denied doing such thing.”

“You think she is related to the King’s death?” The wizard asks impatiently.

“Not only the King’s death, also the Queen’s” Williamson quickly responds.

“The Queen also died?” Jolott asks surprise.

“I’m afraid so. The Queen died last week. In the middle of the night she went up the highest watch tower and jumped off.” The royal counselor informs the wizard. “The guards described her as silent and weeping before jumping and not only that, the behavior of Sauda was suspicious. Alger witnessed it”

“The guard watching over the bedrooms called me that night after they saw the Queen walking out.” Alger, a young soldier explains the old man. “He went behind the queen and when I was going to follow them I saw Sauda’s bedroom door open. I went to investigate and found the Elf singer sitting on her bed. She was moving her legs like she was mimicking walk. She continued this for a couple of minutes and then she moved her arms as she was moving something and then gave a small jump while still on her bed. Then when I heard the Queen screaming after she fell, Sauda just lean back on her bed and laughed out loud. I took a couple of steps back and went away to see who had cried.”

“I suggest you expel that creature out of the castle immediately.” Jolott tells the crew. “She probably killed her and the King”.

“It’s too late for that, Jolott.” Williamson replies. “After that the King married her and then two days ago, during a meal with guests. He stood up in the middle of the meal with a fearful expression, took the knife to cut the meat and cut his own throat while shouting Sauda’s name.”

“Dear Lord. Can you describe her?” Jolott interrupts.

“She was young, clear skin, black haired, about tall up to my shoulder, dressed in mountain elf clothing.” Williamson answers.

“I meant her eyes, anything particular with them?” Jolott asks again.

“I think Amber color, sometimes they look like light blue.” The counselor responds surprised.

“I’m afraid she is a sorceress. The change in the color of her eyes proves she is using magic. From what I heard I think she is using controlling magic.” The sorcerer states while standing. “If she married the King therefore she is candidate to rule the kingdom. When is her crowning?”

“It will be after the King’s funeral, tomorrow in the evening.” The counselor responds while rolling his eyes.

“We must stop her before she ascends. We have to prevent her from ruling or it could have serious consequences fro the kingdom.” Jolott says this as all follow him out side.
