This is how I personally shade most of my pieces. I made two DDs so apparently it works ahah
It's by no mean THE solution to shade artworks, nor "the good one"! Feel free to check many other shading tutorials from various artists and craft your own style!

I understand how can some points like "think in 3D shapes" and "refine your shading until you like it" can be tricky to beginners. I might make other tutorials about this if you want.
