Description

Since I'm planning on redoing Harry Potter and the Weaving Lines of Fate (on aO3) I decided to redraw Moria and the characters. So here is Moria Prescott. In the rewrite she's gonna have a connection to ancient magic due to an unknown bloodline.

Moria Prescott was born to Mabel and Maarten Prescott and is their only child. When she was three years old her parents were killed in a car crash. Orphaned, she was sent to live with her father's twin brother, Malcolm. This turned out to be a mistake as the man was extremely abusive, and physically, mentally, and emotionally abused Moria. She stayed there until she was eight before the abuse was discovered. She was then taken in by her father's best friend and his partner, with the rest of her family's blessing (they would regularly visit). For several years she lived with them, slowly healing as while the physical wounds had healed, the mental and emotional wounds were far deeper, believing her fate was to grow up as an unassuming woman. It wasn't until her 11th birthday when she received a letter from Hogwarts and an explanation from Minerva McGonagall about what she was that her life would change yet again.

She keeps in regular contact with her paternal family, even though she doesn't live with them in the rewrite. They felt as if they couldn't raise her, not with knowing what happened to her by their own brother. She doesn't blame them.

Jacob and Will are her godparents and her father's best friend. While they were devastated that they couldn't initially take her in, they thought it was better that she was with family. Upon learning otherwise, they felt immense guilt and didn't hesitate to take her in. In the rewrite, Jacob and Will are not brothers but instead partners. Though they never marry, Moria refers to them as an 'old married couple'.

She knows next to nothing about her mother's side of the family. It wasn't something ever discussed while they were alive and there was no known way to contact them after her mother's death.
When she smells amortentia she smells wet dog, parchment, and smoke.

She later becomes an animagus and is able to transform into a fox
Her patronus is a dog, something her friends tease her about

She gets incredibly bad headaches as she begins to research ancient magic and she has to be careful to not strain her eyes.
