Description This is AlphA, my second DC universe OC.  AlphA is a human who mechanized himself.  He, with the help of Gary Myers, created an robot body that AlphA downloaded himself into, thus becoming an android with a conscience.  AlphA did this because of his fear of mortality, believing being an android would protect him from a human's body and it's weaknesses.  Before his transformation, AlphA was a doctor who specialized in bio-technology.  AlphA is a favor broker, not caring much for money, but valuing people indebted to him as his currency.

Normally, AlphA would be wearing clothing, but i left him undressed so i could draw some of his tools.  Shown in this drawing, there is a shoulder cannon, used for shooting a grappling hook (apparently the preferred way to get around in Gotham.)  His other shoulder has a set of small gatling guns.  His left arm has a retractable blade, protruding from the palm of his hand.  The fore-arm has a control panel, used to hack into things and to monitor his systems.  On his right hip there is a compartment for storing strong tensile rope.  His feet have retractable wheels that are powered by miniature motors (I imagine the feet to work like Air Treks from Air Gear).  His right arm is his "mercy arm" (as i call it).  Essentially it's the type of arm cannon Mercy Graves has in Young Justice.  He obtained this in return for a favor performed for Lex Luthor, though we're not entirely sure why Lex owed AlphA said favor.  His body is adjustable, with his limbs being able to detach and replace, making himself custimizable for whatever he needs.

I'm sure I haven't covered everything, but i'll stop there for now.  AlphA is still in the works, but I wanted to get his design out there and let people know what I'm doing.  If you have any questions about him, feel free to ask, and i'll try to answer to the best of my ability.

AlphA (c) Me
Gary Myers (c)
DC elements like Lex Luthor and Mercy Graves belong to DC, of course.
I don't know who owns Air Gear, but it sure isn't me.

This guy just screams to be made into one of those high quality, super expensive action figured that has like fifty different detachable limbs and weapons and things. I really enjoy the concept for this character, like A LOT! It's really creative especially the idea of him choosing to be turned into this machine and all the different gadgets are super cool! I'm curious if he considers himself a villain or if he fits into the in between area? Really amazing concept here and I love your art style! I hope to see you posting more art with your various characters in the future!!

I'd sell him as pieces in mystery box's.  Put 2 unique parts in a box, randomly assort them, collect all 50 some pieces! Make a fortune.
When AlphA was first in concept, i was going for the choice to become robotic.  I was going through all the DC based mechanical characters, and those who are cybernetic typically don't choose to be that way.  So I wanted to make someone who chose to be that way.
As for him being a villain or not is still in the works.  I believe at first he would attempt to still be helpful to people, considering he was a doctor.  But i think the constant dispute between emotions and logic going on in his head would eventually drive him crazy.  I'm sure he'd develop some scheme, and thus become villainous.
Anyways, thanks for the compliments.  I do like my art, but it all turns out very reference-y.  Kind of awkwardly standing there with no background or context.  But that's something I haven't really learned yet.
