Description
Behold the modern miracle of PLASTIC!
This card is not made of paper, but of celluloid, an early thermoplastic. Considered a novelty at the time this card was manufactured in the early years of the 1900s, the color was painted on by hand. Novelty postcards made from other unusual materials such as Aluminium, Wood, and Leather can also be found. All forms are quite readily available and many can be had for $5 or less.
Celluloid postcards were popular with Troops during WW1, they would often send them home to loved ones. This card was sent to Quebec, Canada and is written in French. It also has added on cloth flowers.
