When you consider the 8th day option to kill people, it makes me wonder if perhaps that is why his face is like that.
Then again, I like to think he turns out like Kaido after going down the "kill humans" path.

You know, as much as this ending gave me chills of both joy and horror, it's one of the better ones. Gin's is too nice, Yuzu's and Atsuro's haven't gotten yet, Naoya's is chilling, and Amane's, while I totally ship them together, puts the Protag in a bedsheet for his final constume.

I've heard it's just a bad ending altogether. One of those "you just failed the game' sort of things?
Fortunately it's only 20hrs or so...imagine that on Dragon Quest VIII D:

This is the best ending of the game since you get rid of Midory and Yuzu . ( But you get Kaido รฒ_ยญรณ )

Unfortunately I didn't saved haru the first time so I had to play Yuzu's ending, it was very disturbing. Naoya's ending is my favourite so I'm going to suffer to get all the other endings then I'm playing Naoya's again

Assuming of course, that they didn't intend to play through five times, and save the best endings for last, I wonder how many people decided to pick the incredibly boring endings of Atsuro, Gin, and Yuku.
