Description Basically an exercise in orange. With turquoise blue (and a very limited colour scale). Perhaps more of the turquoise than the orange... But the orange pops out, doesn't it? At least enough.
I'm really unfamiliar with this colour, the orange. It is an interesting colour. I'll do some more later.

And wanted to keep the overall desing (the dress, the details, everything) down to a minimum.

Also, kudos to anyone who can figure out what her name means. Although it primarily means many things, it does also reference to something edible that is orange-coloured. (But not oranges). Including the other meanings, thought it was the perfect name for her. And, it also sounds quite lovely.   It should be a name.

I love two characters with orange hair:  Orihime Inoue from BLEACH,  and compassion  (my alter-ego)  from books about the  Doctor Who#8

If you need colors to balance with orange I recommend using brown, cream or white, and really dark red. I like this, too (and I ordinarily hate orange).

Yes, orange really isn't my colour, hence this practice.
I might do some more orange things later on when I get hit by inspiration.

I'm not very good with colors myself, but this composition is amazing. The contrast between her orange-ish color and the turquoise blue is very very elegant in my opinion

I'm... completely and utterly in love with this. Admittedly, it's partly because she looks quite alike me.
I mean, her hair is a brighter orange than mine, and a HECK lot longer, and my eyes are greyish blue, not turquoise, and yet I find her surprisingly similar to my own looks, her face features and the fact that she has lighter streaks in her hair.
Anyway, she's looovely. Beautifully drawn, and the dress is a dream, this shining colour - and those long, flowing sleeves are dashing. I think the limited colour scale does a good job to her looks, like flames on water or something. Great work!

So glad you like her!
Pure bright orange is such a demanding colour that it really needed to have limited amount of other colours around itself in order to show off better. And I though this greenish-turquoise blue would make it sweet, rather than some other harsher blue that would have been perhaps elegant but not what I was going for with her.

Really? Where did you find that? Because when I tried to google it on its own, it didn't show me any names...

I used google translate to find this word while I was looking at something entirely different, well not too different. Hint: this is Lithuanian language.

Yeah.
I suppose, if it was to be pronounced in English it would be something like "vee-lee-oh-neh"...
