Description Chapter Eight

They were running. Satoru kept a heavy grip on Celeste’s hand. Satoru was ready to puke, his face was contorted and he couldn’t see straight.  Celeste was breathing hard and sweat was trailing down her face.

‘S…she mutilated him…’ he thought as the bile rose again.

He hadn’t expected that to happen. It came so fast. The light and the heat. The heat was the worst. It seemed to burn into his skin. The heat started to die down and he didn’t know whether to be happy or to yell out in pain. He knew that there were going to be burn marks. When he moved his hands he found them to be unbound. Celeste was standing behind him covered in blood. Her eyes were a blank slate and she smirked widely.  Her claws were and flexing as she looked at him. Behind her was the body of the man who came inside. The contents of his stomach were spread on the floor.

Satoru had wrestled with Celeste slightly so she wouldn’t kill him the same way. She had managed to cut across his torso before he struck her in the face. She was so taken back that her eyes went to normal and she started to cry.

And now he was running with her behind him. He didn’t know  how long he had until the guards were suspicious of the man who didn’t return.

He could see the exit in front of him, but as he got closer men began running in front of the door and positioned themselves with rifles in hand.

“We’re in some deep …” he cut himself off as he stopped running.

Celeste backed up a bit, the familiar feeling rising within the deepest crevice of her spirit.

“FIRE!” yelled one of the men.

Satoru shut his eyes believing this was the end for him. He would never see his family again. No more laughing and no more little sister.

“Open your eyes Satoru,” Celeste said calmly.

Satoru opened them and looked in fascination. The scene was unmoving. The bullets were frozen in midair, the guards never moved from their spot, each one not blinking. He reached out and touched one of the bullets and it slowly dropped to the ground.

“I can’t hold this for long Satoru…” she bit out.

There was a great strain on her voice. Satoru nodded and grabbed her hand while walking past the barrage of bullets and the station of guards. When they got far enough away from them Celeste resumed time.

“That….That was ….Awesome!” Satoru yelled.

Celeste never answered. She closed her eyes and dropped to the ground helpless.

Chapter Nine

He didn’t know how long he had been wandering around with Celeste on his back. She had been sound asleep for almost two hours. His legs were cramping up and he was very tired, but he wanted to push onwards and find a way out. He heard his cell phone go off in his back pocket and stopped. He placed her gently on the ground and pulled it out.

“Moshi, Moshi?” he said as he picked up the call.

“Hey, Satoru,” said a voice on the other line.

Satoru recognized it as one of his friends, Shuichi.

“Hey Shuichi, you’re good at tracking people through phones right?” he asked.

“Uh…yea,” Shuichi said.

“Can you find my signal, I really don’t know where I am right now.”

“What the hell have you been up to?!”

“Escaping, mostly.”

“…Man your one sick dude, next time find something else to get your kicks ok?”

Satoru laughed. He nodded and waited a bit for Shuichi to track his cell phone. Once Shuichi got the signal he said he’d be over and Satoru hung up. He sat down on the ground next to Celeste and looked up.

“You’ve been asleep for a while…just…what have you been infused with…” he mumbled to himself.

She started to move, but showed no signs of waking. He looked up and noticed that the sun was slowly going down. His cell phone made a loud ring to notify him of a low battery.

“Ugh, just great,” he said to himself.

The ground was uncomfortable and there were twigs sticking him. Leaves were in his hair and on his shirt and he didn’t like it one bit.

“First thing I’m doing when I get back is taking a shower,” he said to himself.

Chapter Ten

It didn’t take Shuichi long to find Satoru and Celeste. He was a tall man. He had short black hair that he hid under a blue baseball cap and violet eyes. He was dressed down and casually even though it was hot outside.

“Who is she?” Shuichi asked pointing to the still sleeping Celeste.

“Huh? Oh, that’s Celeste,” Satoru said.

Shuichi nodded while casting a suspicious glance at her. She stirred lightly and raked the ground with her nails. One eye opened and then both.

“Woah! Cool! Her eyes are two different colors!” Shuichi yelled.

Celeste got to her feet quickly and backed away from him.

“No, wait a minute, he’s a friend,” Satoru said hastily.

He had gotten up and was now facing her as Shuichi looked on with a dumb look on his face.

“He is?” Celeste asked.

She had stopped moving and stood still, but was still in a position to run.

“Yes, he and I go to school together,” Satoru said.

He didn’t want her running off and going back into the direction of the laboratory, if that happened then she’d massacre everyone there.

She loosened up a bit and stood up straight but never once dropped her guard.

“Feisty,” Shuichi commented.

Celeste’s eyes narrowed.

“I’d prefer if you refrained from using such words to describe me,” she said before dusting herself off.

He nodded. Satoru and Shuichi started to talk for a bit while Celeste kept sizing him up.

“Uh…can we go now…she’s scaring me,” Shuichi said slowly while backing away.

Satoru nodded and grabbed Celeste’s hand keeping her a good distance from Shuichi. Shuichi turned around and led them out of the forest that they were in and to his car.

Chapter Eleven

Shuichi had dropped Satoru and Celeste off in front of the park. They thanked him, well Satoru thanked him Celeste just glared. She didn’t like Shuichi that much. It bothered her when he looked at her. Shivers trailed down her spine with every look.

“Satoru…it bothers me…” she mumbled when they were on the road.

Satoru looked over from the drivers seat to see her shifting uncomfortably in her seat.

“What bothers you?” he asked.

She looked over at him before turning her gaze to the window.

“That man, I don’t like him…it bothers me the way he stares…” she said.

“Well, I don’t really see Shuichi that much so it shouldn’t present much of a problem, the only time I really do see him is at work,” he assured her.

“Work?”

“It’s a place where I go and spend some time listening to someone higher up than me and I get paid for it.”

“Oh…”

She remained silent after that. The whole car ride was spent listening to the loud hum of the engine and watching the scenery pass them by.

Tree after tree after tree. It made Celeste sick just watching more of them. She turned her attention elsewhere and noticed something. Satoru’s eyes were slowly dropping but they would snap back open as soon as they dropped.

“Are you…tired?” she asked.

Satoru looked over at her before shaking his head, but the sleep lines were visible under his eyes.

“Don’t lie to me,” she said sternly.

Satoru resisted the urge to laugh as she crossed her arms over her chest and huffed. She was like a little child when she wasn’t killing someone of course.

Chapter Twelve

They made it to Satoru’s apartment but he passed out before he could get out of the car. Celeste was now carrying him on his back as she walked inside of the front lobby. A few people were sitting on leather chairs just relaxing, one even went up to them.

“Haha, Satoru is actually being brought in by a girl, and a cute one at that,” he said.

Celeste felt a low, feral growl rise within her throat as the man reached for Satoru.

“Don’t touch him,” she bit out.

The man reeled back a bit before laughing again.

“What are you his main squeeze? Didn’t think Satoru had it in him to pick up a chick,” he commented.

Celeste placed Satoru gently on the ground before walking up to the man. He slowly backed away as he felt a presence of danger.

“If you ever make comments like that again I will slit your throat and rip out your heart,” she said low so no one but him could hear.

He gulped loudly before nodding.

“Now, you will tell me where Satoru lives so I can put him in his room,” she growled out.

He nodded again.

“F-Follow me,” he stuttered.

Celeste picked up Satoru again, placing him carefully upon her back, and followed the man to the elevator. They got inside and he pressed the button for the fifth floor. Making sure not to anger her any further the man placed himself on the opposite side of the elevator.

There were a couple of dings that resounded in Celeste’s ears which caused her to be irritated. The man led them out when it was on the fifth floor. He brought them down the hallway and to a door that had the numbers 6-8-9-7-5 engraved in it.

“Now leave! And if you tell anyone of what happened in the lobby I will come after you,” she said glaring at him.

He nodded and fled down the hallways hurrying back to the elevator just in case she followed him.

Celeste shook her head and mumbled “pathetic” before kicking the door open. She didn’t bother searching for the key. Using her nose to find Satoru’s scent she found the place where it was the most, his bedroom.

It wasn’t decorated much and the furniture was plain. There was a small TV in the corner that rested upon a burgundy stand, a matching queen sized bed was in another corner, a desk rested in the middle of the wall facing the door with a laptop on it. Celeste thought it was the weirdest things she has ever seen.

“A room with no main computer…no wires…nothing…” she mumbled as she walked over and put Satoru on the bed, “that is weird…”

Leaving Satoru to rest in peace Celeste went into the living room once more. There was a nice leather couch and a black china table in the middle. A large fifty inch TV was in front of the china table. To the left of the living room was the kitchen, there wasn’t much in it. A microwave sat on the countertop, there was a dishwasher and a sink, a refrigerator and a lot of cabinets.

She walked over to the leather couch and sat on it, testing its comfort level. She found it most pleasing and laid her head upon the arm rest falling asleep almost instantly.

Chapter Thirteen

Satoru woke up feeling completely refreshed. He stretched out his muscles before standing up and walking to the bathroom with a towel and some clothes in hand. The tile of the floor was cold on his bare feet but he could handle it. Turning the handle above the tub the water started to gush down into the porcelain bath. He pulled up the lever that turned on the shower and it started to rain water.

Shedding his clothes he stepped into the bath and let the water wash over him. He felt happy that he was getting clean. After washing himself off with some rain smelling soap and rinsing he got out of the shower and wrapped the towel around his waist.

Now it was time to begin the morning routine. With the toothbrush in hand he placed a small dab of toothpaste on it and began to brush his teeth. The slight shuffling of feet caught his attention and he slowly opened the bathroom door.

Celeste was stumbling about with her eyes closed as she tried to wake up. Satoru laughed, the toothbrush still in his mouth. Her eyes slowly opened and then widened when she saw he only had a towel to cover himself. A light blush stained her cheeks as she looked away. She was now officially awake.

Satoru then remembered the state of dress he was in and hurriedly closed the door.

It only took him five minutes to fix his hair, brush his teeth and put his clothes on. He walked back out to see Celeste poking the TV screen.

“What are you doing?” he asked fixing his belt slightly.

“…its not turning on. The TV at the lab turned on every time I touched the screen so why isn’t this turning on?” she asked still poking the screen.

“Uh, that’s because this isn’t like the TV at the lab. You see the TV in front of you requires a remote control to turn it on,” he said.

She shivered at the word remote.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“Every time Celeste was a bad girl they would use a remote to control her…She would feel shocks all through her body, and they would hurt her badly,” she mumbled talking in third person.

Guilt rose again in his stomach. To think it was his father who was apart of this experiment.

“I’m sorry,” he said.

“For what? You didn’t do anything to Celeste, you helped her,” she said looking at him.

“…no…my father…my father was apart of this. He turned you into what you are now. I-I’m sorry, I never knew about it until I came back home.”

“Y…Your father?”

“Yes…”

He noticed her eyes narrow and take on a reddish tint.

“So, you mean to tell me that you’ve been hiding this from me?” she said resorting to first person again.

Satoru took a step back. The tone of her voice was malice pure malice. He didn’t know why but he just dropped to his knees and bowed his head low.

“I’m sorry,” he said.

He kept repeating that phrase over and over again as Celeste stood up and neared him. She kneeled down and placed a hand on his head.

“Celeste forgives you,” she said softly.

Satoru looked up to see the red tint in her eyes gone.

“But Celeste does not forgive the man you call father, Celeste wants to kill him. She wants him to pay for what he did to her,” she said cheerfully.

She smiled, her eyes closed. Satoru shivered at that look and feared for the worst. Celeste wanted to kill his father so he had to do everything in his power to keep her from seeing him.

Chapter Fourteen

After the conversation that they had earlier Satoru had Celeste take a shower and dress in some of his clothes. She came out with her hair wet and the clothes hung off her body very loosely. The jeans were falling off her waist so he gave her a belt and the shirt dropped every once in a while off her shoulders.

“Does Celeste have to go around wearing this? She feels stupid,” Celeste said lifted up the sleeves that covered her hands.

“I promise I’ll take you shopping for some more clothes but right now I have to go to work and I don’t feel really safe leaving you here so I’m taking you with me,” he said laughing.

In reality he thought she looked really cute wearing his clothes.

“But where do you work?” she asked.

“I work at a restaurant, don’t worry I’ll find something for you to do so you won’t be bored,” he answered.

“Ok!”

Satoru grabbed her hand and led her out of the apartment while taking a notice in the dent on the door and the broken lock. He sighed to himself.

“I’ll have the repair man come and fix it while we’re gone,” he said.

Celeste just giggled knowing what she had done. When they got down to the lobby Satoru let go of her hand and went to the front desk to inform the owner of the problem. She looked around a bit before her eyes rested on the man from last night.

“Hehe, Celeste remembers him,” she said to herself.

Satoru walked over hearing her sentence.

“How do you know Korin?” he asked.

“Celeste knows the nice man because he helped her out and brought Celeste to your apartment room so she could put you to bed,” she said nodding.

Satoru shrugged and they passed by the said man as they neared the exit. Celeste turned around and smiled while waving.

“Bye, bye nice man!” she yelled.

Korin turned around and his eyes widened. Celeste continued to smile as Satoru led her outside. He got in the drivers side of his car and Celeste got in the passenger side. She bounced a little as he placed the seatbelt on her.

“Celeste is going for a ride,” she said happily.

Satoru nodded and smiled. He sat upright in his seat, started the car, and drove off. The music was really low but Celeste was having fun swaying to the beat. He turned up the music a bit more and watched as Celeste stared. He felt that she would tell him if it was too loud.

It was at a respectable volume as she continued to sway back and forth. When the song was over she yelped and almost attacked the stereo when the next song came on. It was loud to her ears and Satoru turned the volume down.

“Whoops, sorry about that,” he apologized.

“Celeste forgives you,” she said calming her racing heart.

Satoru pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant noticing a couple of cars were already there.

“Well, lets go inside shall we?” he said invitingly.

Celeste nodded and pulled off her seatbelt nearly ripping off the door as she got out.
