A young girl paced herself carefully, marking her every step in the back of her mind in case she wanted to turn back. Her red eyes were glazed over with an unknown emotion, well at least unknown to the naked eye. Light black hair flowed in the wintry night making her red tips seem purple.

Snow flakes fell on her outfit. A heavy jacket with a white blouse underneath and a pair of blue jeans.

The snow crunched as she stepped in it with her black steel toed boots. Her hands stuffed in her jacket as she felt the cold night air. Her mind was set; she was going to finally do it.

She walked into the park. It was always quiet at night, that’s why she came. It brought peace to her mind, but tonight was different.

She’s A MONSTER

She winced slightly as she shook her head.

GET RID OF HER! GET HER OUT OF MY HOUSE!

Tears gathered in the corner of her eyes and began to slowly fall. She couldn’t help the way she was. It wasn’t her fault she was cursed. It wasn’t.

Shoubu, her cousin, was killed in a car accident. He was hit from the front and back. Both drivers were drunk and having a good time and Shoubu was just trying to get home for the Christmas party his parents were having. All was fine at the party until the police came and informed them of the news.

The girl picked up her pace as tears rapidly fell.

I WANT MY SON BACK! BRING MY SON BACK! YOU BITCH!

She stopped at the ice covered pond. Her eyes were now red as she continued to cry her heart and soul out. She unzipped her jacket and pulled it off letting it fall carelessly to the ground also exposing her naked arms. She shivered at the night air and rubbed her arms down to feel warmer.

‘I’m so sorry Shoubu…I wish I could have told you, but it’s forbidden…’ she thought sadly.

She tested the ice by putting a boot on the thick sheet; once she found it was stable she put both feet on and walked slowly to the middle. She could feel and see the ice cracking from beneath her. Her body told her to run, but she stayed on the ice. Pretty soon it began to catch up with her. The ice began to fall and split apart. Underneath her the ice gave way and she fell to the bottom of the cold water, the last thing she saw was a pair of cat-like eyes staring down at her.
