their species are not made like normal wolf puppies (by breeding)
those puppies are made through magic.
when the mom and dad wolf fall in love they unlock certain love magic where they are able to create a baby.
when the baby pup is created. its the size of a normal small wolf. the only difference is their gem on their forehead.
when a puppy is born their gem on their forehead is plain gray ( not active gem)
it means the puppy is vulnerable. when the puppy reaches a certain age, in can prove it self with a mission to be able to gain its offical color of gem.
once the puppy gains the color of his or her gem she's imortal. but when the stone is removed from their head (in a fight or torture or anything else) they die.
the gem is their life.
