Description It's my Venus Flytrap, and I've named it Snappy  

This is my first flytrap ever I'm not that good with plants every plant dies and leaves me , but I've managed to keep this one (and my other two Japanese Peace Lilies ) alive and it keeps growing and growing and I just hope Snappy makes it through winter! (yes I do keep it in my room where it's nice and warm but this little fella needs a buttload of light, and in Sweden, we have very, very dark winters.) 


update (jan 18th): Snappy unfortunately didn't make it through the winter    I thought it died first, but then it came back (which totally makes it a Winchester) but nope, I couldn't provide what was needed for it to live

They are, if I forget to water it for only one day it almost feels like a thin paper when I touch it 

But it has been fun taking care of it so far

oooooh You have to get one!!! Köpte min på plantagen för typ 50 kr, tyckte det va ganska billigt Also, om jag klarar av att ta hand om en så gör du också det, för jag är verkligen inte bra på att ta hand om växter

Do you have a kind of *grow light*?  We have them here still, I think.  I used to use one or two years ago, when I had small cacti I wanted to keep over winter. Wisconsin is very cold, dreary, snowing in the winter.   Your flytrap looks great. I never tried one.  Where do you get the bugs to feed it?

I've been looking into buying one of those lights, but when you're an unemployed student like me, you don't really have a lot of money to spend and they're kinda expensive  

You should try having one, they're awesome Whenever I saw a fly in our house I took it and once or twice I've seen it catch flies on its own Flies don't understand that you can't fly through the window and since I keep the flytrap next to said window they tend to just fly into one of the traps on their own xD I feed it around twice a week, but I've read that they don't need much feeding during winter time so I guess if anything, like spiders, come crawling it feeds on that I also water it with rain water that I collect in a bucket in our garden

I can understand that. ...I don't know, but it could be fun! I have rain water I collect and save in plastic milk/juice bottles for watering all the cacti and succulents I have. As for the Venus fly trap, we probably have enough bugs to satisfy its needs!

They're not really that difficult to take care of, they just need a lot of watering and you have to find it some bugs

It's way easier than I thought it would be, which is why I didn't buy one until this year  

The only problem I'm having is the light, but I'll hopefully solve that in some way c:
